The candidate will contribute to research projects, produce exemplary research, and must be proficient in project management. Successful genealogist researchers are flexible, detail-oriented, strong in technology, and meet industry standards for genealogical research. They consistently meet performance metrics. What you will do … - Conduct expert genealogical research focused on the U.S. Mid-South and South regions. - Quickly assess resource accessibility by determining research feasibility, locating sources, and communicating promptly when research is not feasible. - Produce well-written research logs, reports, and regular client updates that align with company standards. - Manage 30-60 client tasks once fully onboarded and trained, defining the scope, budget, and resource requirements for each project. - Utilize superior organizational skills to ensure sessions run smoothly and delegate work to the most suitable researchers. - Exercise sound judgment to ensure deliverables meet company, industry, and client quality standards, satisfy session budgets, and maintain client satisfaction—even if project goals are not met. - Maintain an average of 6 billable hours per day and fulfill annual billable hour targets. - Provide and receive constructive feedback effectively. - Collaborate closely with Research Managers throughout each session to ensure project success. - Assist Research Managers in setting clear expectations with clients, updating clients every 4-6 weeks, and promptly addressing concerns or questions from clients and staff. Who you are … - Minimum of 5 years’ professional genealogical research experience. - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in History, English, or comparable experience. - Specialized expertise in U.S. genealogical research with a focus on Mid-South and Southern states. - Proficient in applying DNA test results to genealogical research problems. - Advanced knowledge of brick wall research methodologies and evidence analysis. - Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously. - Experienced in creating research logs/journals, citations, abstracts including analysis, writing narrative reports, drafting research plans, and conducting research within budget. - Experienced in client communication, expectation setting, and conflict resolution. - Comfortable working collaboratively and providing feedback and coaching to team members. Role Description Join AIR as a Principal Researcher with our Healthcare Innovations team. Our team works collaboratively to unravel the intertwined challenges of health care quality, costs, and access. Our team of experts – nurses, physicians, psychologists, economists, sociologists, data scientists, and public health experts – advance evidence and save lives by leading rigorous research and evaluation; results-driven technical assistance and training; and leading-edge data science and technology tools. This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories. Responsibilities - Leads project and task execution and business development, specifically for work conducted for CMS and the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI). - Directs execution of large complex projects or portfolio of smaller projects; oversees the planning, design, and implementation of project procedures. - Leads proposal efforts including review of proposals for sound practices and techniques, briefings, and client relation/development activities. - Serves as industry expert for alternative payment models, value-based reimbursement, or Medicare payment policies. - Effectively coaches and manages others to promote their development; sets developmental goals and measurements for staff. - Fosters an environment that values a wide range of perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, and individual strengths. Requirements - Must possess strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills at a senior level. - Extensive success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting on large-scale federally funded projects. - Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing.
