Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: Bookkeeper Compensation range: $1,800 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: A residential-focused design and construction team delivering tailored new builds and thoughtful space transformations. With a strong emphasis on quality workmanship, efficient project management, and a reliable in-house team, projects are completed to a high standard while staying on schedule and within budget. Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper with strong experience supporting Australian construction clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work autonomously, and is confident managing high-volume transactions across accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. Key Responsibilities:  Bookkeeping & Financial Management: - Perform bank and credit card reconciliations (approx. 200 transactions per month) - Manage AR/AP reconciliations, handling 400+ invoices monthly - Oversee Accounts Payable, including weekly pay runs and approvals - Maintain and update accounting systems (Xero and Dext or similar) - Monitor and troubleshoot data feeds - Prepare and present weekly aged payables reports to directors - Provide general bookkeeping and administrative support as required Payroll: - Process weekly payroll for approximately 15 employees - Manage monthly superannuation processing - Support Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and year-end finalisation Compliance Support (AU): - Assist with BAS and IAS preparation in coordination with the external accountant - Support Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) preparation - Assist with payroll tax requirements

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working with Australian construction clients
  • Strong proficiency in Xero
  • Familiarity with Dext or similar document management tools is essential
  • Solid experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable and payroll processing
  • Working knowledge of Australian compliance requirements (BAS, STP, etc.)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
