• Develop “must have research” and ideas and offer compelling, actionable approaches to clients' needs through written deliverables • Lead compelling interactions (virtually or in-person) to identify the root cause of a client’s challenges and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward • Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can evolve the course of a research agenda • Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights • Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings • Support Research and Sales: provide sales support serving as voice of the market to help research teams create content and to drive engagement with clients to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business • Provide high quality and timely peer review for research content • Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy - specifically in AI Cybersecurity topics • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the research community

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
  • 12 plus years of enterprise experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Risk management with a full or partial focus on information risk or IT risk, Cybersecurity role with full or partial data security or application security focus, Data science or artificial intelligence architecture or implementation
  • Experience or current interest in the following research areas: Evaluating controls frameworks and standards for securing AI, Evaluating technology markets that support securing AI, Applying cybersecurity controls to AI and generative AI
  • Excellent writing ability – must be able to create detailed but easy-to-understand written research to lead clients to success
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Superior analytical skills while applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and defending conclusions
  • Ability to work independently while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% (where applicable and when safe to travel)

This is a limited tenure position with an anticipated end date of June 1, 2027 The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure will be responsible for the design, implementation and operational leadership of infrastructure services supporting a laboratory. This role plays a key part in building IT capabilities in a new company, operating independently while remaining aligned with Mayo governance, security, and quality standards during the build and early operational phases. Reporting to the IT Director, the Senior Manager has primary accountability for infrastructure services delivered through managed service provider relationships, including network, hosting, cloud platforms, end-user computing, and foundational security services. The role ensures infrastructure reliability, performance, scalability, and compliance required to support laboratory operations, business continuity, and future growth. Working closely with the IT Director, laboratory leadership, cybersecurity, and Mayo Collaborative Services technology partners, the Senior Manager will help establish and mature infrastructure operating practices, including monitoring, incident response, change management, disaster recovery, and capacity planning. The role requires strong operational leadership, vendor management expertise, and experience supporting highly available, mission-critical systems in regulated environments. This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of the new company and laboratory. As the organization matures, the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure leadership position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Collaborative Services. The ideal candidate will have experience leading infrastructure services in laboratory, healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated environments, with the ability to operate independently while remaining aligned with a broader enterprise governance, security, and compliance framework.
