Civil Municipal/Land Development Project Engineer We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing Civil team in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Civil Municipal/Land Development design, along with comprehensive knowledge of Municipal and Land Development projects. This role requires expertise in preparing plans in accordance with current industry standards, local ordinances, and state permitting regulations. This position may also involve transportation projects performing stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and erosion control permitting. Location This position will be a hybrid position in the Benesch Pottsville, Pennsylvania office. Key Projects Leading the Way - Alvernia University – Ongoing University Projects: Strengthening educational infrastructure through long-term collaboration on new and renovated school facilities - Hazleton Area School District – Ongoing School Projects: Expansion of existing school facilities with numerous site improvements for increased safety and improved traffic flows - NorthPoint Development – Mountain Valley Logistics Center and Highridge Logistics Center: Civil/Site design for a national real estate developer. Design and received approval for over 7 million square feet of industrial warehouse space. - Land Development projects including residential subdivisions, municipal facilities, and commercial and industrial buildings with associated design and permitting. - Local Municipalities and Counties – Various Projects: Enhancing local infrastructure and recreation facilities including roadways, bridges, parks, and recreational courts. The Impact You Will Have - Lead site development projects from concept through final design and construction support. - Develop and execute project schedules and work plans - Manage project teams with accountability for budget and schedule - Mentor and support junior staff in technical and professional development - Contribute to Division strategic growth initiatives and collaborate on regional growth strategy - Interact with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders, including the Municipal and County government and permitting agencies. - Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events - Identify new business opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits What We Are Looking For - Minimum of 5 years of diverse and progressive civil design experience - Licensed PE in the state of PA or planning to obtain licensure in the near future - B.S. Within this team, you will have the opportunity to work on Data Center projects of various sizes across the country. The Mission Critical space requires a very proactive, responsive, and efficient design team with projects serving Fortune 10 companies who are making headlines with transformational projects. The engineers on this team are a core design group dedicated to serving Data Center clients and similar major commercial programs. The projects they work on require a variety and diverse set of skills to assist our clients with site due diligence, design, entitlement approvals, permitting, and construction. Within this team you will be exposed to different design requirements across multiple geographic regions as well as different Mission Critical and commercial projects of various sizes and operational needs.
