• Representing the commercial insureds of a prestigious and financially stable commercial insurance carrier • Preparing and trying high complexity, high exposure Maryland and District of Columbia Workers’ Compensation cases • Working directly with claims professionals providing legal analysis and advice • Preparing and filing legal pleadings and documents • Performing legal research • Preparing for and conducting pre-trial discovery • Preparing for and handling final hearings before the workers’ compensation judge • Conducting post-trial activities where appropriate

• Represent the commercial insureds of a prestigious and financially stable commercial insurance carrier • Prepare and try moderate to high complexity General Liability and Commercial Auto personal injury cases • Perform duties encompassing all aspects of insurance defense • Conduct initial investigation and legal analysis and advice • Prepare and file legal pleadings and documents • Conduct pre-trial discovery and hearings • Handle trials and post-trial activities

• Represent clients in California state court hearings, including trial calls, FSCs, and substantive motion hearings. • Draft and respond to discovery requests and review opposing parties’ submissions. • Prepare, draft, and argue motions, including motions to compel and dispositive motions. • Assist senior attorneys with case strategy and trial preparation.

• Act as the first point of contact for legal and contract queries across the business • Support customer, supplier, and partner queries relating to contractual and legal matters • Collaborate with external legal advisors and consultants on business and product legal matters • Promote awareness and understanding of legal and contractual obligations across the organisation • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and documentation • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and legal developments • Manage contracts register and work with Supplier and Partner managers to proactively renew relationships and deals • Work closely with People and Culture to ensure employee contracts and amendments are accurate and compliant • Support the implementation of the Organisations growth activities • Partner with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely responses to customer queries • Attend meetings and calls with internal and external stakeholders as required
