MaryRuth’s is seeking a Summer Intern in Analytics Engineering. This is an entry-level internship designed for someone eager to learn the modern data stack and gain hands-on experience building scalable, well-governed analytics solutions. This role will work closely within the Analytics team to support real-world projects with a strong emphasis on data modeling and governance using dbt along with utilizing analytics best practices. This role is ideal for a curious, detail-oriented problem solver who is excited to manipulate large datasets, write SQL, and build practical skills for a future career in Data Analytics or Analytics Engineering. This is a temporary (6/1/26 to 8/7/26), full-time, hourly, non-exempt, remote role. EST or CST hours are preferred. Must be currently enrolled (as of 6/1/2026) in an academic program in Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. Responsibilities - Support analytics engineering projects with a focus on data governance, testing, and documentation in dbt; utilize production data pipelines and analytics workflows. - Learn and work within MaryRuth’s modern data stack, including Fivetran, Amazon Redshift, dbt, and Tableau. - Write and optimize SQL to transform and analyze large datasets. - Help build and maintain scalable data models that support business reporting and analytics. - Gain hands-on experience with version control using GitHub. - Collaborate with the Analytics team to understand how analytics supports the business. - Apply strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability; approach ambiguous problems with a creative, solution-oriented mindset. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Must be currently enrolled (as of 6/1/2026) in an academic program in Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. - SQL experience or other proven coding experience (through coursework, projects, or prior work experience) is required. - Strong interest in learning analytics engineering concepts and tools. - Comfortable working with large datasets and learning how to model data at scale. - High attention to detail and a desire to build clean, reliable data assets. - Familiarity with Git or version control concepts is a plus. - Eager learner with a proactive, problem-solving attitude. • Contributes to the functional roadmap and ETL data integration strategy for the Enterprise. • Provides engineering input into the overall architecture of ETL solutions. • Designs and builds mappings, transformations, and workflows. • Supports detailed reviews of design and code for quality assurance. • Unit test, Integration test and Stress test interfaces using vendor tools. • Provides advanced problem solving and technical support as a support analyst. • Serves on 24x7 on-call support rotation for Mission Critical application.

• Maintain, create and enhance existing SSRS reports as part of ongoing legacy support, with an active role in migrating high-value SSRS content to Power BI. • Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models supporting Finance, Claims, Operations, and Executive reporting requirements. • Write DAX measures and calculated columns that implement agreed-upon business logic; document metric definitions so they are not dependent on tribal knowledge. • Translate business reporting requirements into scalable Power BI solutions, including incremental refresh strategies, row-level security, and workspace/deployment pipeline governance. • Support UAT cycles, partner-facing reporting validation, and audit reviews by verifying report output against source data and defined calculation logic. • Write and optimize complex SQL across SQL Server and Snowflake, including CTEs, window functions, and query performance tuning against large claims and financial datasets. • Develop and maintain semantic models in Power BI or Snowflake that enforce consistent metric definitions across reports and teams. • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across environments by tracing issues back to source system ingestion, transformation logic, or pipeline failures. • Build, maintain, and enhance SSIS packages and data pipelines that move data between source systems, SQL Server, and Snowflake to support reporting workflows. • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures that impact reporting delivery; implement alerting and logging so failures are detected before stakeholders are affected. • Maintain and improve existing SSIS processes as part of ongoing reporting evolution. • Partner directly with Finance, Claims, Operations, and Risk teams to scope reporting requirements, validate output accuracy, and resolve metric disagreements before they reach production. • Work alongside Data Engineering to align data availability, schema changes, and pipeline dependencies that affect downstream reporting; flag upstream data quality issues when discovered. • Maintain a data dictionary and report documentation that allows any team member or auditor to verify what a report measures, how it is calculated, and where the data originates.
