Senior Payroll Administrator
ŌURA
• Oversee multi-state, semi-monthly payroll processing for all employees. • Manage day-to-day operations including onboarding, merit increases, department changes, terminations, and leaves of absence. • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and additional payments. • Validate and reconcile payroll runs and reports for final approval and submission. • Ensure all payroll practices comply with local, state, and federal laws. • Manage year-end tax reporting (e.g., W-2s) and stay current on labor regulations and statutory requirements. • Maintain and update payroll software; troubleshoot and resolve system issues. • Collaborate with HR and IT to manage system upgrades and cross-functional integrations. • Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and monthly journal entries for benefits and payroll. • Create monthly reconciliations of benefit invoices, payroll accounts, and taxes. • Assist with internal/external audits and maintain records in accordance with retention policies. • Accurately maintain employee equity data within Carta. • Process equity grants and exercises; prepare grant information for Board approval. • Address employee payroll questions professionally and promptly. • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement best practices to improve accuracy.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience in growing companies. Global payroll experience is a significant plus.
- Extensive experience with major HRIS/Payroll systems (ADP, UKG, Workday). UKG Pro preference.
- Strong ability to align payroll data with accounting systems, including journal entries and month-end reporting.
- Ability to explain complex payroll/tax information to stakeholders clearly and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proven track record of working effectively with HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Job Summary The North American Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely execution of U.S. and Canadian payrolls. This role requires deep hands-on experience with payroll taxation, statutory and voluntary deductions, retirement plan funding, and audit support. The ideal candidate is a seasoned payroll professional who can operate independently with minimal ramp-up and serve as a trusted subject-matter resource across Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Finance. System Analysts support the long-term goals of the Office of Administrative System Transformation (OAST) through consultation, process improvement and digital transformation.
