Role Description Clinical Mental Health Counseling adjunct faculty are responsible for instructing and facilitating meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively supporting all facets of the learning environment adhering to South University’s mission and CACREP standards. This role promotes a student-centered learning environment that prepares graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. Faculty are expected to foster a culture that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity, and ethics as well as personal and professional development. In fulfilling their responsibilities, faculty should embody South University’s core values, including a commitment to delivering high quality service to students; fostering the development, growth, engagement, and recognition of employees; and cultivating an environment conducive to innovation, positive thinking, and growth. Additionally, faculty are encouraged to participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs, departments, and colleges, while adhering to the directives of the South University Board of Trustees and administration. Key Job Elements - Provides competency-based education which aligns with the South University model of curricula as well as supports the South University style of system delivery in keeping with CACREP standards. - Designs and delivers instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet knowledge and skills-based course outcomes, the development of activities that support lesson objectives, and for online courses, deliver the instruction as approved within each course shell. - Effectively utilizes technology in the classroom to support the student learning experience. - Enables the achievement of pre-defined KPI outcomes for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction that fosters proficiency and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation. - Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing an educational environment conducive to learning and student involvement and effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success. - Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching and students, and engaging students in the learning process. - Manages the educational environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies consistent with the CMHC program, school, campus, or online division. - Relates professional clinical experience to learning by continuing professional knowledge and skills development, the introduction of varied therapeutic approaches into courses, and the active awareness of counseling trends and opportunities. - Participates in the faculty development process to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities in learner-centered instruction. - Communicates consistently and effectively with supervisor(s), faculty, and other South University administrators. Qualifications - Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education or a closely related field relevant to the area they would teach. - Membership in a professional association tied to the counseling profession is preferred. Requirements - Ability to read, understand, write, interpret, and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations. - Ability to teach in a manner that meets CACREP standards while implementing real world and current scenarios to discuss counseling theories and standards in a manner that informs and educates but does not engender classroom conflict. - Knowledge of university guidelines, course descriptions, and academic terminology. - Knowledge of office administrative procedures, including accurate record-keeping. - Ability to perform basic computer processes, including word processing, web browsing, and utilization of Microsoft Office. - Proficiency with the online learning environment, including the creation of digital media and utilization of learning management systems. - Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations. - Uses logic and reasoning to look at different types of information in order to make conclusions and work through problems. - Locates key facts and information to learn more about different types of information. - Communicates and interacts with people effectively while being aware of social perceptions. Position Overview All Hands Consulting is seeking experienced FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Program Delivery Managers (PDMGs) to join our Recovery Cadre pipeline.
