How you will make an impact: We are searching for a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer with extensive cloud & networking experience who is passionate about changing the way millions of people save energy. You’ll work within the Infrastructure Platform team to build and improve our platforms that enable our developers to provide a direct touch point between utilities and their users. You’ll be a part of developing a robust architecture to manage massive amounts of data and leveraging it to deliver a compelling experience to users across our platforms. You’ll be joining a passionate team of engineers working all over North America. What you will contribute: - Managing, developing, and improving core compute platform - Providing guidance to peers around cloud best practices - Building and improving tools used by the product engineering teams - Be capable of prioritizing your work to adhere to a deliverable schedule and ensure successful delivery that exceeds expectations - Have a strong eye for detail and quality of your code - Not be afraid to dig into hard problems, and enjoy experimenting to come up with simple, elegant solutions What you bring to Uplight: - You love to learn and can be coached - 3-5 years of relevant SRE experience with a cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) - Proven experience in Terraform or other IaC languages - Proficiency in Linux Command Line & Bash or equivalent scripting - Experience with a programming language in SRE context (Python, GoLang, JS) - Rich experience in Kubernetes and Networking topics (DNS, Ingress/Egress, VPCs, Subnets) - CI/CD or other DevOps experience - Ability to deliver against several initiatives simultaneously - Experience working in an AGILE environment Bonus Points: - Experience with ETLs and data pipelines - Automation of multi-step repetitive tasks - Serverless architecture experience - Web Authentication and Authorization exposure - Experience implementing observability tooling such as DataDog, Grafana, etc. Why Join Uplight in Leading the Fight Against Climate Change? Description Piping Engineering & Analysis Synopsis The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline performs evaluations for piping systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.7, and other codes as applicable to the specific evaluation being performed. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline also performs the following specialty topics. - Vibration monitoring and analysis to evaluate system operational vibrations associated with plant modifications and operating events, and to provide vibration prevention and mitigation solutions and designs. - Evaluation of hydraulic transients, evaluation of piping systems for thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, and qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads. - Pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) or microbiological induced corrosion (MIC), and pipe flaw evaluations. Position Specific Details Provides senior level technical direction and supervision to the project team members in his/her discipline. Establishes project task schedules and budgets for his/her discipline to meet overall project requirements. Coordinates activities between disciplines. Is responsible for successful completion of project deliverables to meet all technical, quality, and project controls expectations.
