Principal Engineer – Energy
Thermo Systems
• Lead complex system design, including I/O design, architecture, submittals, and testing documentation • Maintain and expand expertise through training, publications, and industry engagement • Provide technical direction across multiple projects and teams • Support business development through technical proposals and presentations • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery • Mentor engineers and provide expert guidance across technical, financial, and operational domains • Drive company design standards and quality through the QMS • Communicate proactively and professionally with customers • Adhere to client-specific standards and procedures • Deliver exceptional service and follow through on commitments • Provide responsive problem-solving support • Execute and oversee project tasks on schedule and within budget • Lead full project lifecycles when assigned • Serve as primary customer contact for assigned projects • Identify scope changes and new business opportunities • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team accountability • Accurately estimate timelines and manage project risks • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture • Direct and support junior staff in construction, operations, and maintenance activities as applicable
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with relevant experience
- 13+ years of total experience
- 3+ years as a Senior Control Systems Engineer (or equivalent)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or relevant industry certifications preferred
- Advanced leadership and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to remain effective under pressure
- Strong innovation and process improvement mindset
- Proven ability to motivate and mentor engineers
- Strong relationship-building skills within the industry
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Active participation in industry organizations
- Up to 50% overnight travel may be required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be fit for duty at all times

Who We Are Robert Half is seeking a Senior Software Engineer III – ATI to join our team supporting the underlying infrastructure, platforms, and services that power our applications and ELT/ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in infrastructure automation, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), monitoring, CI/CD deployment frameworks, and platform reliability. Hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Spark, Jupyter Notebooks, Java, SQL, and Shell scripting is essential. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure platform components that enable the development teams to deliver features efficiently. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing system improvements, managing infrastructure as code and optimizing CI/CD workflows using DevOps tools, supporting platform services in production environments, collaborating across teams to define the requirements and/or drive improvements and participating in all phases of development life cycles, including documentation and procedures updates. What You'll Do - Designs and develop large-scale, complex platform components that support core infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native services.
