Title: BigCommerce Technical Lead Location: Durham United States Job Description: Akkodis is seeking a BigCommerce Technical Lead for a Contract with a client in Durham, NC(Remote). This role requires deep BigCommerce technical leadership to design, customize, and optimize enterprise‑grade eCommerce solutions. Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. BigCommerce Technical Lead job responsibilities include: - Lead the end‑to‑end design, development, and architecture of scalable BigCommerce and headless commerce solutions. - Provide technical leadership to development teams through guidance, code reviews, and adherence to coding standards. - Customize BigCommerce storefronts using the Stencil framework and develop custom themes, templates, and extensions. - Implement and manage integrations between BigCommerce and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM/DAM, and payment/shipping providers. - Optimize storefront performance by applying caching, CDN strategies, and best‑practice scalability measures. - Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments across Dev, QA, and Production environments. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 8–10 years of experience in eCommerce development with strong hands‑on BigCommerce expertise. - Proven experience leading BigCommerce architecture, custom storefront development, and headless commerce implementations. - Strong background integrating BigCommerce with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, PIM/DAM) and managing performance, scalability, and CI/CD deployments.
