Role Description We are looking for a Principal Network Engineer who thrives on solving complex routing problems and designing resilient network architectures. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work on challenging real-world networks, lead advanced troubleshooting efforts, and help shape the technical direction of our infrastructure. You will be part of a highly collaborative engineering team responsible for building and supporting networks that serve a growing customer base. This role offers the opportunity to work deeply with BGP driven WAN architectures, Fortinet and Cisco platforms, and multi-site routing environments while mentoring other engineers and influencing engineering standards across the organization. • Support the administration and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and Datacenter network environments. • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot network hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless access points. • Work with technologies such as Cisco (Nexus, ACI), Palo Alto, F5 BIG-IP, and Arista. • Handle day-to-day operational tasks, including: Incident investigation and resolution Change requests Troubleshooting and remediation Performance monitoring. • Participate in root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions. • Monitor network performance and ensure high availability of production systems. • Assist in network infrastructure projects (implementation, upgrades, migrations). • Support hardware/software upgrades and patching activities. • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, network diagrams, procedures, and inventory. • Follow network security best practices and support audit/compliance activities. • Participate in rotational on-call support for critical systems (24/7 environment).

• Develop and provide input for network architectures for our systems and customers • Translate user and system requirements to system functionalities and reality • Develop and implement network security architectures with HAIPE, IPSEC, TLS, and other protocols • WAN, LAN, WLAN, VOIP setup and troubleshooting • Support design, development, and test efforts for an airborne tactical networking system • Implement router protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, BGP, PPPoE, and MANET • Implement IA controls and ensure compliance with DoD RMF • Work as a team throughout the design process, supporting sprint planning sessions, code reviews, and scrums • Get in front of real-world operators to understand needs and requirements from an end-user point of view • Direct enterprise-level engineering oversight for multi-million-dollar programs, enforcing rigorous technical baselines, proactive risk registers, and transparent status comms to executives and mission partners. • Partner with PMs and chief engineers to apply Fuse’s Warfighter Engineering & Design Process, driving on-schedule, on-spec delivery. • Translate forward-looking concepts into modular reference architectures that unlock future capability inserts and rapid refresh cycles. • Champion emerging tech adoption—AI-enabled network orchestration, SOSA-aligned hardware, zero-trust enclaves—by codifying best practices and coaching scrum teams through thorny edge cases. • Align customer pain points with IR&D dollars, prioritizing prototypes that close validated gaps and boost ROI. • Continuously scan the battlespace: track regulatory shifts, MIL-STD updates, and competitor pivots to recalibrate tech roadmaps ahead of the curve. • Co-author cross-functional product roadmaps with Technology, Growth & Strategy, and Operations, ensuring every campaign has a tech glide-slope and a clear value prop. • Serve as the technical conscience in executive reviews, translating complex trade-space decisions into crisp, business-centered narratives • Solicit and integrate feedback from operators, customers, and internal guilds to keep initiatives mission-relevant and revenue-aligned. • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities. • Support the hunt and qualification of new opportunities: leverage intel on platform roadmaps, SWaP-C trends, and coalition needs to seed the funnel. • Nurture strategic alliances across DoD PEOs, prime integrators, and niche innovators, positioning Fuse as the go-to edge-networking house.

• Responsible for performing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure and related systems • Provides technical support and troubleshoots problems on local area network (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), VPN, and data networks • Adds users, configures, updates traffic rules and troubleshoot company firewall (Checkpoint) • Builds rules, updates rules and troubleshoots web filter and Intrusion Prevention System • Maintains overall inbound and outbound network connectivity using routers and Cisco gateway • Maintains internal network infrastructure including Switch Fabric • Monitors network for system status alerts regarding servers, web applications, and network connectivity • Administers internal secure WIFI • Provides reports on equipment and user access • Provides technical support to various departments and users regarding networks and VPN • Integrates network technology with other information systems and performs testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and maintenance • Documents work in ticketing system, and enterprise content management software/team collaboration tools • Creates, or assists in creating Standard Operating Procedures, and presenting proposals to appropriate review boards • Supports the needs of the Technology department to facilitate their networking needs • Supports Help Desk Ticket Monitoring and Response, desktop health checks & support (virtual & physical) • Participates in off-hours support • Creates user voicemail and telephone accounts as well as hunt groups, route partitions and call search spaces using VOIP system
