As the Growth Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for executing and optimizing demand generation programs that drive high-quality inbound pipeline. You’re a strong, hands-on operator who loves turning strategy into action, running campaigns end-to-end, and improving performance through testing, iteration, and data. You’re comfortable owning channels and campaigns, measuring what matters, and working closely with sales to make sure marketing efforts actually translate into pipeline and revenue. You thrive in scrappy environments where clarity, judgment, and execution matter more than headcount or big budgets. You want real ownership, clear accountability, and the opportunity to grow into broader marketing leadership as the business scales. This role is ideal if you’re ready to take meaningful ownership of growth programs, sharpen your strategic instincts, and help build a demand engine that actually works. THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE - Execute and optimize demand generation programs with a primary focus on high-quality inbound pipeline for enterprise mortgage lenders - Run day-to-day execution across customer acquisition channels including SEO/GEO, SEM, paid social, AI-driven campaigns, and events, within a disciplined budget - Execute and optimize account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns to generate qualified pipeline from key enterprise and mid-market lending accounts, in close alignment with sales - Manage campaign performance from audience to impression to MQL to opportunity, using tools such as 6sense, Demandbase, HubSpot, and Pardot to deploy targeted content and measure engagement across account lists - Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and ROI, sharing insights with marketing and sales leadership - Partner closely with sales to align on targeting, messaging, campaign execution, and follow-up - Support event strategy by owning execution and optimization, including pre-event outreach, on-site execution, and post-event pipeline follow-through - Own and optimize key sections of the website as a growth asset, testing and improving conversion across the funnel - Collaborate with content and creative partners to develop assets that support pipeline generation and sales conversations - Contribute insights and recommendations to improve demand generation performance as the business grows - Experiment intelligently, starting digital-first and expanding into new channels when data supports it. IDEALLY YOU’LL HAVE We don't expect people joining our team to know everything about mortgages. Passionate, driven, empathetic, and performance-oriented people willing to learn quickly can be taught, and we're excited to help you learn and grow. To succeed in this role, it’ll help if you have: - 3–5 years of hands-on experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or performance marketing in a B2B SaaS environment - Proven experience executing campaigns that contribute meaningfully to inbound pipeline - Hands-on experience running and optimizing SEO/GEO, SEM, paid social (especially LinkedIn), and conversion funnels - Experience supporting or executing account-based marketing programs - Strong analytical skills and comfort measuring performance beyond vanity metrics - Experience with marketing automation and CRMs, particularly Salesforce and/or Pardot - Comfort experimenting with new tools and acquisition models (AI-assisted content, automation, personalization) and learning quickly from results - A scrappy, owner mindset — you’re comfortable being the person who does the work - Solid design and messaging judgment, even if you’re not a designer by trade - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with sales - Motivation to grow into broader ownership and leadership as the marketing function scales WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT - You’ll have real ownership over growth programs that directly impact pipeline and revenue - Inbound demand generation is mission-critical here, not a side project - You’ll work closely with sales and senior marketing leadership with clear goals and accountability - This is a chance to build durable growth skills and grow into broader responsibility over time Salary Band: $85,000 to $110,000 (depending on experience and location) WHY US Here, you get an opportunity to be a vital part of an agile team of thinkers and doers collaborating to change a multi-trillion dollar industry. DIRECTOR, GROWTH MARKETING WHO WE ARE Our mission is to build enterprise software and products that empower people to make mortgage lending simpler and more accessible. Maxwell was founded in 2015 by homebuyers who were shocked by the complexity of the mortgage process for borrowers and lending teams alike. Somehow, in the mix of paperwork, points, and process, the humanity and emotion of the largest financing decision of a person's life had been lost. After spending a year with over 1,000 mortgage professionals, the founding team realized we needed to focus on making the people who make a difference shine. Now, we employ a world-class team of software experts and mortgage professionals who pull up our socks every morning to do just that. We're privileged that our company has been recognized by HousingWire, Progress in Lending, MReport, and others as a leading innovator in our industry. We are a committed team doing honest work that matters in the real world — one lender, one borrower, one homeowner at a time. And it works. Today our digital mortgage platform powers hundreds of mortgage lending institutions nationwide, from non-depository mortgage banks and credit unions to brokers and community banks. We work to make them, and their employees, the real heroes who enable homeowners to achieve the American Dream. WHO YOU ARE This role is focused on driving pipeline from target accounts and building Maxwell’s presence in the market, working closely with sales and in partnership with our teams who own SEO, paid media and our website. You will own ABM strategy, field marketing, and core messaging, and help orchestrate how we show up to prospects across channels. So, ideally, you’re a hands-on, scrappy marketer who knows how to generate pipeline in a focused B2B environment. You’re not trying to own every channel. You know how to pick your spots, work cross-functionally, and drive impact where it matters most. You’re especially strong in: - Account-based marketing (ABM) - Field and event marketing - Messaging and positioning - Working directly with sales to turn interest into pipeline You’re comfortable being the person doing the work, which means on any give day you’ll be writing messaging, planning campaigns, running experiments, while also stepping back to think about what’s actually going to move the business. THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE - Build and execute a targeted ABM strategy focused on ~300 in-market accounts and ~3,000 broader nurture accounts - Partner closely with sales to define target accounts, align on outreach and messaging, drive meetings and pipeline - Own Maxwell’s event and field marketing strategy, including: major industry conferences (booth, messaging, pre/post outreach), hosted events, and creative approaches to stand out in a crowded market - Develop and refine messaging and positioning for our core segments (IMBs, credit unions, banks) - Create and test nurture campaigns and outbound messaging (email, LinkedIn, etc.) for in-funnel sales opportunities - Partner with our teams on campaign strategy, content needs and performance insights to create and test campaigns - Build early thought leadership presence in the market (content, POVs, event tie-ins) - Track and report on funnel performance, and help identify where the funnel is working vs. breaking - Continuously test and iterate, focusing on what actually drives meetings and pipeline, not just activity - Over time, help define what the next phase of marketing at Maxwell looks like as growth and investment accelerate IDEALLY YOU’LL HAVE We don't expect people joining our team to know everything about mortgages. Passionate, driven, empathetic, and performance-oriented people willing to learn quickly can be taught, and we're excited to help you learn and grow! However, for you to best succeed in this role, it'll help if you have: - 5–8 years in B2B marketing, ideally in SaaS or a complex sales environment - Experience running ABM programs and working closely with sales - Experience with events or field marketing that drive pipeline - Strong instincts for messaging, positioning, and audience engagement - Comfort working in a scrappy environment where you’re both strategy and execution - Ability to prioritize and focus on what matters most, not just run more campaigns - Solid understanding of funnel metrics (MQL, SQL, pipeline), even if you’re not a RevOps expert WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT - You’re not expected to own everything. Our partners owns SEO, paid media, and the website, so your job is to focus on what actually moves pipeline: target accounts, messaging, and how we show up in the market. - ABM is not a side project here. We have a clearly defined universe. This role is about going deep on those accounts and driving real engagement, not just running campaigns. - Events are a core growth lever, not a checkbox. Conferences, dinners, and field marketing are a big part of how deals get done in our space. You’ll have the opportunity (and expectation) to get creative and make these moments count. - You’ll work directly with sales and leadership. This isn’t a “throw leads over the fence” role. You’ll be in the middle of how we think about pipeline, working closely with sales, customer success, and leadership to drive outcomes. - You’ll help define our voice in the market. We’re not looking for someone to just execute. We want someone who can help shape how Maxwell shows up to lenders through messaging, positioning, and thought leadership. This is a build role, not a maintenance role. There’s real opportunity to put your stamp on how we build our brand in the marketplace as we continue to grow. About Us Propel is on a mission to empower low-income Americans by simplifying access to government benefits with modern technology. We're a passionate team of 100 Propellers - all working to help our users get through the month, every month. The Role Millions of Americans navigate a social safety net that too often works against them - confusing enrollment, broken eligibility systems, policies that never reach the people they're meant to serve. Propel exists to change that. And increasingly, the path to change runs through the states that administer these programs. When Propel builds credible relationships with state agencies, we don't just grow the business - we create direct pathways to improving life for the people we serve. A state that understands how its users are falling through the cracks can actually fix it. But that requires state leaders to know what Propel sees and trust the source. The Growth & Insights Lead will make that possible by reaching the right agency decision-makers, producing insights grounded in real user experience, and developing messaging that earns trust in a complex public sector environment. This is a full-cycle role: the right person will generate the idea, pull the data, and take it all the way to market themselves. Success isn't just a pipeline. It's Propel becoming a voice that shapes how states think about benefits delivery, and through that, meaningfully improving the safety net for the people who depend on it most. Here's how you'll impact the company: - Build a pipeline that marketing actually drives. Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns (LinkedIn, email, webinars, events) that get the right state agency decision-makers into conversations with our partnerships team — and track marketing's measurable contribution to qualified pipeline. - Turn user data into insights that open doors. Design and run Propel's survey infrastructure end-to-end — from quick-turn national surveys to tailored state-specific studies — and use AI-assisted analysis to identify the 1–2 findings that actually matter and package them for policy, media, and partner conversations. - Make Propel the voice states trust on benefits delivery. Develop differentiated messaging and positioning for state agency leaders, program administrators, and frontline staff — ensuring Propel shows up consistently and compellingly across every touchpoint. - Be a true partner to the partnerships team, not a support function. Produce high-quality collateral (one-pagers, decks, briefs, thought leadership, case studies) that plug directly into active partnership opportunities, and use AI tools to customize materials for specific states and agencies without rebuilding from scratch each time. Requirements - 7+ years of experience in insights, marketing, growth, or strategy - ideally with exposure to the public sector or government-adjacent work - Demonstrated experience running full-cycle campaigns across channels (LinkedIn, email, events, webinars) with measurable results - Strong research and data analysis skills - you've designed surveys, synthesized findings, and packaged insights for non-technical audiences - Exceptional written communication; you can distill complex ideas into compelling narratives for diverse audiences - Experience producing sales-facing collateral (decks, one-pagers, briefs) that directly supports deal progression - Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing without authority — especially alongside a sales or partnerships team - Fluent in AI tools as a productivity multiplier for research synthesis, content production, and campaign iteration - Working knowledge of the public benefits landscape - SNAP, Medicaid, eligibility systems, or adjacent programs - Familiar with the regulatory environment and stakeholder dynamics in state government - Thrives in a lean, high-ownership environment where you're expected to drive outcomes independently - Genuine care for Propel's mission and the people we serve At Propel, you'll enjoy: - Meaningful work and a strong shared sense of mission - Remote-friendly work environment with a dog-friendly office in Downtown Brooklyn. The team meets in-person for optional retreats. - 20 Days of PTO - 4% 401K match - $10k lifetime spend towards Carrot Fertility - Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision options - A strong equity package that reflects the leveling and anticipated impact of this role - Propel builds compensation bands referencing the 75th percentile of compensation for companies like us. Expected compensation for the role as scoped is $150,000 - $180,000 and will be based on how a candidate matches to our internal leveling guide. Additional Considerations: - We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and abilities. - Interview Accommodations: Propel is committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the interview process. If you need accommodations due to a disability or medical condition (such as additional time or accessibility support), please let us know as early as possible so we can support you appropriately. - We're currently accepting applications from the states we have an established entity, which includes California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. - Background Check Requirement: For roles with access to confidential employee or customer information, a background check may be conducted following a conditional offer. All background checks are handled in accordance with applicable laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
