Tax Provision Manager

This role can be based out of our Austin office on a hybrid working model, or remotely in the United States. Key Responsibilities: - Tax Provisioning & Reporting: - Prepare and review global income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including deferred tax assets/liabilities analysis - Ensure accurate quarterly and annual tax provision calculations meet internal and external reporting requirements - Analyze and document income tax positions in compliance with FIN48 (Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions) - Federal, State, and Local Tax Filings: - Assist with preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns - Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions - Compliance & Audit: - Actively manage external audits and inquiries related to tax provision - Assist external auditors with schedules, documentation, and other necessary information for tax review - Monitor U.S. and international tax developments to assess impacts on the company’s tax positions - Tax Data & Analytics: - Reconcile tax accounts and rollforward balances for month-end and quarter-end close processes - Lead efforts in tax provision software implementation, configuration, and system upgrades Qualifications: - Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA and/or master’s degree in Taxation preferred) - Minimum of 10 years of experience in income tax accounting and tax compliance (either in public accounting firms, corporate finance, or other relevant roles) - Skills & Competencies: - Proficient in tax compliance software/tools (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Alteryx) and Microsoft Excel - Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, Tax Policy, and IRS regulations - Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills - Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders - Attributes: - High attention to detail and ability to manage complex workflows - Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-tax stakeholders - Collaborative and team-oriented mindset About MongoDBMongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market. Position Overview AMD is seeking a highly experienced tax leader to serve as a key deputy to the Senior Director of Global Tax Operations, with primary responsibility for global tax accounting, external reporting, and tax operations execution. This role will own execution of the global tax reporting function, including tax provision (ASC 740) and tax operations, through direct leadership of multiple workstream leads. The Tax Director will act as a primary integrator across tax and finance, ensuring alignment with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury, while operating within the strategic framework established by the Senior Director. The role is expected to embrace AI and other enabling technologies to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the tax function as AMD continues to grow.
