The Engineering Manager will lead our engineering team in the development and execution of distributed generation solar and storage projects including but not limited to commercial & industrial, small-scale utility, community solar and landfill. This role involves managing a team of engineers and overseeing end-to-end technical design and engineering processes and supporting construction management Responsibilities ⚙️ Management - Conduct performance assessments to provide feedback, promote individual growth and ensure alignment with organization goals - Collaborate with the Vice President, EPC to strategically manage resource allocation - Oversee daily team workflows by facilitating capacity building and deliver targeted training initiatives to drive team efficiency Technical Evaluation - Analyze site parameters, interconnection studies and customer loads to determine optimal system sizing and configuration - Conduct shading analysis, structural assessments and electrical reviews to inform equipment selection and layout - Model proposed designs in PVsyst or similar tools to predict energy products and economic performance - Select appropriate technologies for projects, including modules, inverters, racking and system balance Design Execution - Lead the engineering team in creating permit/construction drawing sets that meet codes and client standards - Direct internal and external resources to produce comprehensive construction documentation packages - Manage relationships with third-party engineering firms to ensure quality deliverables - Specify electrical protection, monitoring, and control schemes to meet utility and grid stability requirements. - Develop equipment specifications, bills of materials, and detailed scopes of work for procurement and construction - Coordinate technical reviews and secure permit approvals from relevant authorities - Review detailed civil, structural, and electrical engineering design packages for compliance with technical specifications - Stay updated on advancements in PV modules, inverters, racking, and energy storage technologies Construction Support (in coordination with Construction Project Management team) - Provide technical supervision to contractors during system installations to ensure adherence to plans - Collaborate with EPC contractors through procurement, construction, and commissioning phases - Review shop drawings, inspect deliveries, and witness factory testing as needed. - Oversee punch list inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems before final approval - Compile as-built drawings, operations manuals, warranty documentation, and other project closeout materials - Respond to contractor RFIs, participate in construction meetings, and review QA/QC documentation - Conduct site visits to evaluate constructability and support construction progress Requirements 🎓 - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) - 7+ years of experience in engineering in the renewables industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role - Expertise in solar plant equipment, including PV modules, racking systems, inverters and electrical balance of plants - Expertise in NEC codes - NABCEP, PV Installation Professional Certification a plus - Experience reviewing civil, structural, or electrical engineering design packages - Proficiency with PVSyst, System Advisory Model (SAM) programs, AutoCAD, PVcase, ArcGIS, Helioscope, and Aurora Solar is a plus - Experience managing third-party due diligence studies and energy production estimates - Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time - Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills - Travel required up to 20% - Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future The annual base salary for this position is $135,000 – $160,000. Job Description Who You’ll Work With Arista’s Linux Kernel team is responsible for developing and maintaining the Linux kernel in EOS. This includes keeping pace with the latest developments in the upstream Linux Kernel community, and integrating new versions of the upstream kernel as they become available. This work also involves designing and implementing new Linux kernel features, and working with the upstream kernel development community to get these changes incorporated into the mainline Linux kernel code base. Kernel software engineers are also responsible for the CPU subsystems on all Arista products. You will evaluate new CPUs and work with CPU vendors to integrate their kernel support into EOS. You will also help to bring-up and qualify new CPUs in our hardware products. Arista Software Engineering roles demand a strong and broad software engineering background. While the primary focus area for this role is Linux Kernel software, your work will cover all aspects of software development spanning the addition of new features, debugging problems and fine tuning code for scalability and performance. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus. - 7+ years of experience in applications, design, or field engineering roles focused on power distribution/switchgear, with at least 2–3 years in technical leadership or people management. - Strong technical understanding of three‑phase electric power systems, including distribution, control, protection strategies, rotating machines, and communications (Ethernet, Modbus, IEC 61850). - Hands‑on experience with switchgear design and AutoCAD - Working knowledge of NEC and key UL/IEEE standards (UL 891, 1558, 508A; IEEE C37.x). - Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing technical teams in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment. - Proven experience improving processes, standardizing deliverables, and increasing reuse of engineering assets (templates, libraries, tools). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences. - Strong organizational and prioritization skills, comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders. Compensation The salary range for this role is 165K-190K with experience, location, and qualifications, aligned with IEM’s engineering leadership bands. Location Preferred location is Franklin, TN. Alternatively, this role can be based in one of IEM’s engineering hubs, including Vancouver (CAD), Fremont (CA), Portland (OR), or Jacksonville (FL), with periodic travel to other IEM sites and customer locations as needed.
