As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will deliver complex systems across software, infrastructure, networking, and security. You scope work into well-defined milestones, estimate delivery timelines, and follow through. You resolve a wide range of technical issues in creative ways, and the code you write is clear enough that other engineers can reason about it and extend it with confidence. You'll work closely with cross-team stakeholders to define requirements, identify problems early, and deliver software that delights customers. You are a go-to expert in at least one area of the codebase, and you use that depth to select methods and techniques that result in low-defect, high-performance software the team can maintain and extend. At A Glance Objectives of the Role As a Senior Node.js Engineer at Glass Atlas, you will develop and maintain backend services and integrations that support our eCommerce client platforms. Working primarily with Node.js, TypeScript and cloud-based infrastructure, you will build reliable integrations between BigCommerce and external systems, helping ensure data flows and backend processes operate reliably at scale. You will work across multiple client projects, solving integration challenges, improving system reliability and delivering robust backend services that support modern digital commerce environments. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with APIs, integrations and cloud-based services, and who is comfortable operating across multiple systems in a fast-paced agency environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript Build and support integrations between ecommerce platforms and external systems Implement and maintain serverless services and backend workloads using cloud platforms (primarily GCP) Develop solutions for data synchronisation, transformation and event processing Debug and resolve production issues across integrations and backend services Work with the APIs to build and maintain system integrations Collaborate with frontend engineers, technical leads and project teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following internal engineering standards Support junior developers through collaboration, troubleshooting and knowledge sharing Contribute to improving backend development practices and integration patterns within the team.
