This role will collaborate with senior engineering staff to manage Palo Alto firewalls (physical and virtual), Panorama, and related technologies in a multi-tenant environment. The ideal candidate has foundational networking knowledge, hands-on experience with Palo Alto tools, and a strong desire to grow their skills in enterprise network engineering. Key Responsibilities - Provide day-to-day support for Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including physical appliances and virtual firewalls. - Perform configuring, managing, and monitoring multi-tenant firewall environments. - Support Panorama administration, including device group updates, template management, and centralized policy changes. - Troubleshoot basic network and security issues, escalating complex problems as needed. - Perform routine maintenance such as upgrades, patches, and configuration backups. - Responsible for network documentation, diagrams, and change records. - Monitor network performance, health, and alerts to ensure stability and security. - Work with senior engineers on implementation tasks, firewall rule changes, and tenant provisioning. - Follow established change control, security policies, and operational procedures. - Provide technical support to internal teams and end users as needed. Required Qualifications - Education: BA/BS or equivalent - Experience: 8+ years of experience - Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (physical or virtual). - Experience with firewall log analysis and traffic monitoring. - Familiarity with Panorama for centralized management and policy deployment. - Familiarity with network automation concepts or scripting (Python, PowerShell). - Understanding of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, TCP/IP, NAT, and Remote Access (VPN). - Understanding of cloud and/or on-premises environments to include virtual infrastructure platforms. - Experience in or exposure to multi-tenant or segmented network environments. - Understand the practices of network inspection and filtering (TLS Break and inspect) - Exposure to network security best practices. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within an engineering team. - Strong communication skills. - Eagerness to learn and grow within the networking/security domain. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence. - Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborative mindset with a positive, service-oriented approach. The likely salary range for this position is $99,892 - $135,148. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
