Tax Advisor

Family Office seeks a senior tax professional with experience in international tax structuring, tax optimization, and UHNW personal taxation across the UK and Spain. The role involves leading end-to-end tax strategy: identifying risks, designing solutions, coordinating local advisors, and delivering implementation-ready recommendations. Responsibilities Strategy & Structuring - Design and iterate cross-border holding / operating / financing structures. - Optimise WHT/VAT/CT exposures, treaty positioning, and financing flows (interest, fees, royalties, service charges and etc.). - Advise on substance, beneficial ownership, anti-avoidance risk controls (GAAR/SAAR, ATAD themes, principal purpose tests, etc. at a practical level). UHNW / UBO advisory - Advise UBO on residency planning, cross-border personal taxes, and wealth structuring interfaces with corporate flows. - Review and improve UBO loan structures (taxability, documentation, arm’s-length, disclosure risk, exit/repayment planning). Risk management & controversy readiness - Prepare the group for authority/regulator questions: what to disclose, how to respond, and how to keep consistency across filings and financial statements. - Coordinate external tax counsel in multiple jurisdictions; ensure outputs are consistent and implementation-ready. Operational - Maintain a living tax risk register + roadmap (quarterly refresh). - Provide short weekly async updates + join key calls.

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years in international tax / private wealth tax (Big4 Partner / Big Law / top-tier boutique/family office equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience with UK + Spain tax systems (corporate + personal) and how they interact in practice.
  • Strong track record of group financing, cross-border structuring, and tax controversy/queries.
  • Experience advising UHNW individuals / family offices (not just corporates).
  • Comfort with ambiguity, high confidentiality, and pragmatic execution
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • Dual-qualified (law + tax), CTA/ACA/solicitor background, or equivalent.
  • Prior involvement with regulated environments and frequent third-party inquiries (banks, auditors, authorities).
  • Experience simplifying complex structures without breaking business reality.

Qualifications: You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
