Mit ihren Unterschriften gründeten sie den Landesverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern im Deutschen Tierschutzbund, um dem Missbrauch von Tieren noch wirksamer entgegentreten zu können. Heute sind im Landesverband 23 örtliche Tierschutzvereine mit 20 vereinseigenen Tierheimen oder Auffangstationen und ca. 2000 Mitgliedern aus allen Teilen des Landes zusammengeschlossen. Jedes Geschöpf auf dieser Welt hat ein Recht auf ein leidens- und schmerzensfreies Leben und einen schmerzlosen Tod.
