LMS Administrator/Talent Development Specialist

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of human resources experience is required; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Responsibilities for this Position The Talent Development Specialist ensures organizational needs are met, while providing system support, security management, and collaborating on tool enhancements. The position involves leading projects, administering programs, conducting audits, and maintaining strong relationships across the enterprise, with a requirement for extensive HR systems experience and strategic thinking capabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Conducts comprehensive functional testing of new LMS features, enhancements, vendor releases and system modifications to determine suitability for adoption, assess potential impacts on existing workflows, and recommend implementation timing - Identifies, documents and tracks software defects detected during new feature or course testing; providing detailed reports that include reproduction steps, severity levels, and impact analysis - Performs detailed testing and quality assurance on all e-learning courses, including SCORM/xAPI packages, to validate compatibility, performance, tracking accuracy, and user experience. - Designs, develops and updates computer-based trainings (CBTs), including PowerPoint-based modules, interactive elements, and media-rich content to support learning initiatives. - Publishes, organizes, and maintains the LMS course catalog, ensuring accurate metadata, categorization, version control, prerequisites, and retirement of outdated offerings. - Troubleshoots and resolves course-related issues, partnering with content developers and vendors to ensure timely fixes. - Maintains the Learning Management System (LMS) for the collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of employee information. - Troubleshoots and resolves system issues; maintains system accuracy through regular auditing. - Provides support and monitors tickets for employee questions regarding the LMS and other L&OD tools. - Develops assessments, tests, how to guides, and e-learning programs. - Builds collaborative relationships with all Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) team members and stakeholders. - Supports the execution of e-learning and proposes enhancements based on evaluations and changing organizational needs. - Tracks the effectiveness and functionality of training and collaborates with training partners for continuous improvement. - Promotes ongoing measurement of learning effectiveness and continuous improvement of learning - Plans, sources, and administers learning courses and curricula to improve employee knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Creates standard and custom reports; identifies trends and recommends improvements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Experience with Human Resource related systems, including Performance Management and Learning Management Systems. - Fully proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. - Power BI experience a plus - Basic to moderate knowledge of Articulate Storyline - Advanced understanding of SCORM, AICC, and MP4 file types - Understanding of company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. - Fully proficient project management skills - Fully proficient analytical and problem-solving skills. - Fully proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. - Fully proficient organization and interpersonal skills. - Fully proficient strategic thinking capabilities. - Fully proficient ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues. - Fully proficient planning skills to anticipate, prioritize, and take timely action. - Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships and understand business needs. - Fully proficient in handling ambiguous and overlapping requirements. - Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Demonstrates proficient judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. - Self-starter with substantial drive and the ability to take substantial initiative routinely. - Highly flexible, adaptable, and resilient in the face of change and ambiguity. The primary duty is effective teaching of college-level courses and/or labs in the qualified discipline. San Juan College may approve remote or hybrid work for adjunct employees within New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas (states subject to change at any time). All requests for remote work must be approved in advance by the Dean and Human Resources. Remote work options for locations outside of the United States are not permitted.MAJOR DUTIES - Prepares and teaches online courses; delivers lectures, assignments and tests timely; evaluates and records student performance. Provides reasonable and substantive interaction to students and assesses completion of student learning outcomes. - Resolves student issues and concerns or refers to coordinator. - Communicates with the coordinator either in person, email, or phone. - Performs related duties. Adjunct faculty are hired on a semester basis, depending upon the instructional needs identified for each semester. It is the policy of San Juan College that adjunct faculty may teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester, except upon approval by the Vice-President of Learning and the Associate Vice-President of HR and Legal Activities. Payroll and Benefits: Adjunct faculty are paid biweekly at either $778 per credit hour, or at an hourly rate as applicable. Adjunct faculty teaching one (1) credit class or more are eligible for the tuition waiver benefit. Tuition may be waived for one class, up to four (4) credit hours per semester, and any one (1) credit HHPC Fitness Conditioning class for each semester they are employed. This tuition waiver benefit may be transferred to a qualified family member for the semester they are employed. If transferring to a qualified family member, proof of family status is required (i.e., marriage certificate, affidavit of domestic partnership or birth certificate) and must be verified by Human Resources.
