Job Description We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented accounting professional to lead our financial reporting and technical accounting team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong bias for action and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The director of financial reporting and technical accounting will develop and mentor our reporting team, while overseeing the preparation and filing of external filings with the SEC and other regulatory agencies. We are looking for a candidate that will be comfortable with ambiguity, build strong partnerships across the company and is adept at communicating complex financial information to senior executives. This role will monitor SEC and FASB developments and drive continuous improvement while maintaining effective and efficient reporting processes and controls. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee the preparation, review and execution of required SEC filings, including annual reports on Form 10-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, current reports on Form 8-K, and any registration statements. - Review financial information and disclosure requirements for compliance with applicable standards and regulations - Coordinate with external auditors on the execution of the annual audit and quarterly reviews; including coordination across accounting and business teams to ensure timely completion - Build and maintain relationships across functions, including business operations, accounting, tax, treasury, legal and people organizations to facilitate communication, evaluation and reporting of transactions. - Monitor developments at the SEC and FASB for potential impacts on accounting or disclosure, educate business on potential impacts, and partner with development of any necessary system developments or process improvements. - Lead the global technical accounting function, advising on the accounting and disclosure implications of strategic transactions. - Guide and motivate a team of accounting professionals to develop their technical accounting, analytical, writing, and presentation abilities. - Review and evaluate the application of accounting guidance to business offerings, providing guidance to business and finance teams. - Prepare and review documentation of technical accounting positions for completeness and accuracy. Qualifications REQUIRED: - 10+ years relevant experience with a mix of public accounting and publicly traded company experience, with a demonstrated ability to understand profitability drivers and to deliver financial results, coupled with experience in the technology sector are of critical importance - Expert knowledge of US GAAP guidance and SEC requirements. - Experience completing annual, quarterly and registration statement filings with the SEC. - A proven track record of process improvement and experience with financial systems and process change initiatives. SKILLS: - Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal communication. - Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment under tight timelines and determine appropriate actions when precedent may not exist. - Detail-oriented and results-driven with a sense of urgency. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating and ability to influence, collaborate, resolve conflicts, and build consensus with business partners. - Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities; able to roll-up sleeves to accomplish necessary tasks.
