Role Description Our admissions advisors are the first point of contact for prospective students and play a critical role in student recruitment. Success requires strong communication skills, resilience, goal orientation, and the ability to thrive in a high‑volume, student‑focused environment. - Engage prospective students through inbound and outbound phone calls and video conferencing to build initial relationships and assess interest. - Meet daily performance expectations, including call volume, talk time, and applicant progression, while maintaining a high‑quality, student‑focused outreach experience. - Interview prospective students to determine their motivation for attending college; understand their career goals and the obstacles that might prevent them from starting or continuing their education. - Help prospective students overcome obstacles and identify the degree-program that best matches their needs. - Present information about the benefits of education and DeVry University, tailoring the message to the student’s needs, motivation, and career goals. - Guide enrolled students through the admissions process, responding to questions, linking them to financial aid and academic advisors, gathering necessary documents, and ensuring completion of admissions testing. - Network and build relationships with students to identify and contact other prospective students. Hours - This role requires flexibility to work alternating day, evening, and weekend shifts. - M-Th: 2 day shifts 9am-6pm PST and 2 evening shifts 11am-8pm PST - Fridays: 9am-6pm PST - Rotating Weekend schedule: Saturday 9am-1pm PST (approx. 2 per month; if scheduled Saturday, Friday is 9am-1pm or 2pm-6pm PST) Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience. - Able to sit and work at a desk and on the computer for extended periods of time. - Must have a quiet, distraction-free work environment without any conflicting responsibilities during your scheduled shift. - Home office must have DSL or Cable Internet that is hardwired into a modem/router via Ethernet (Dial up, Wireless, or Satellite internet service cannot be used). - Have a passion for education and the desire to help prospective students achieve their educational and career goals. - Enjoy listening to and talking with prospective students over the phone, getting to know them, and creating a meaningful relationship. - Possess the skills needed to craft well-written, compelling messages to our students and fellow colleagues. - Have the desire to work with a team, and toward the team’s goals, while also working independently and being internally motivated. - Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weeknights and Saturdays.
