Centene is seeking a Quality Improvement Abstractor to support quality initiatives through accurate data abstraction, review, and validation of clinical data. The ideal candidate will have experience with HEDIS, quality measure abstraction, and overreads, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency with established guidelines. Requirements: - Experience with HEDIS, quality measure abstraction, and overreads - Familiarity with healthcare quality improvement processes, metrics, and documentation standards - RN or LPN license preferred (not required) - Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret clinical records accurately - Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST - Must reside in the Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) Time Zone This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with a strong understanding of quality measures and experience ensuring data accuracy through abstraction and overread processes. Position Purpose: Lead data collection and abstraction for company quality measures, including HEDIS, CMS, CHIPRA and/or any other custom measurements. - Assess vendor-delegated abstraction activities and compare results to HEDIS standards and/or custom or other measure set standards - Review medical records and abstract data for HEDIS and other measure sets in compliance with standards - Track and report on issues and outcomes related to abstractions and over-reads - Communicate outcomes of abstraction and over-sight activities with health plans and vendors when required - Perform other quality initiatives as necessary - Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards Education/Experience: Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor degree preferred. 4+ years of nursing, medical assistant, medical coding or data management experience. Experience in quality initiatives (including HEDIS project, study analysis, or NCQA standards) preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current state’s RN or LPN license preferred. • Partner with engineering teams to develop and execute QA test plans that prioritize "quality by design" from the start. • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance processes and procedures. • Conduct rigorous testing of software products to ensure they consistently meet established quality standards. • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues through to their final resolution. • Collaborate across the team to ensure all project deliverables align with quality benchmarks. • Document detailed testing results and report defects clearly to the development team. • Create and maintain internal documentation and user tutorials to support product knowledge. • Proactively report project status and quality risks to partners, leveraging basic quality metrics to provide data-driven insights for owned workstreams.

• Serve as the final scientific authority for complex or ambiguous variant interpretation cases, including conflicting clinical and functional evidence • Apply deep expertise in ACMG/AMP guidelines to ensure accurate and defensible classifications • Leverage clinical experience to contextualize variant interpretations and ensure clinical relevance and applicability • Guide evaluation of functional studies and literature to support high-confidence interpretation decisions • Support high-impact client deliverables, including clinical and pharmaceutical use cases • Own QA/QC standards across all variant interpretation workflows • Ensure consistent application of internal frameworks, nomenclature standards (HGVS), and interpretation criteria • Oversee external data quality, including ClinVar submissions and discrepancy resolution • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of QA scientists and curators • Provide coaching on interpretation, evidence evaluation, and best practices • Set clear performance expectations and maintain accountability for quality standards • Design, implement, and continuously improve SOPs, QA processes, and workflows • Identify systemic quality issues and lead solutions that scale across teams and projects • Balance standardization with flexibility to meet diverse client and product needs • Partner with product, engineering, and leadership to improve tools, workflows, and data quality • Contribute to broader data and product strategy through scientific expertise

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for data-driven applications • Perform data quality testing, validating accuracy and integrity across large datasets • Create automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Python-based tools • Collaborate closely with backend and data engineers to define quality standards • Conduct performance testing to verify system efficiency and scalability • Identify bottlenecks in data processing and contribute to continuous quality improvements
