The Content Sales team is comprised of bookselling experts spread across the globe who ensure that the right books are being surfaced to the right customer at the right time. The team is responsible for, amongst other tasks, tracking local performance of all content types, merchandising content across all platforms and for all products (eBook A La Carte, audiobook A La Carte, Kobo Plus – our content subscription plans...), working closely with publishers and partners in creating marketing campaigns, measuring results to inform the sales strategy in order to maximize net sales, identifying and advocating for improvements to our eCommerce experience and subscriptions program, playing a key role in growing the eBook and audiobook markets in the French-speaking countries where Kobo operates, i. e. France, Belgium, Switzerland and Quebec. Reporting to the Director, Content Sales & Merchandising, French Geos & Emerging Markets, the Content Sales Manager, Global French, plays a vital role in helping the growth of the eBook and audiobook markets and in advocating for customer experience and product improvements to capture more content opportunities. The Person: Passionate about books and reading, you are an obsessive reader and bookseller or online retail professional with a desire to grow in the fast-moving field of eBooks, audiobooks, and content subscriptions. You have a strong gut-feel for what your customers are going to love, and you keep your gut healthy with a steady diet of data, with an ability to take that data and turn it into recommendations and decisions. This internship role will be divided in three sections to highlight the different, yet integrated, workflows: Production In this internship, you will learn aspects of both print and digital production work, including project setup with vendors, the conventions of print and digital design (Cascading Style Sheet, “CSS”), the editorial and documentation styles we enforce, production workflows and tools, and scheduling. You may be asked to help with the following tasks: copyediting or proofreading small portions of content, checking covers, triaging corrections from multiple parties, reviewing ePub or print samples, reviewing printer pages, or helping to update or improve documentation. Permissions In this portion of the internship, you will learn about permission, design and illustration workflows. You may work on asset migration projects, as we support users storage and workflows within our systems.
