Job Description This is a leadership position. The main objective is to manage and maintain several products from the Turnitin Integrity portfolio. This position requires strong Project management, technical, and collaboration skills. As an Engineering Manager, a person will communicate with product managers, customer success, and engineers across the globe. Strong prioritization and problem-solving are required to succeed in this position. Since the time will be distributed within five different projects, time management skills and the ability to switch between contexts are required. This is a People Management position. The person will manage ICs, provide feedback, mentor/coach, and help with career development. It’s important to note that the main product state is maintenance now. The engineering manager will have teams reporting to them - in-house and part-time contractors. This position requires working with some peers in the USA timezone (PDT). The engineering team (directs) and most peers are in European time zones. This role will contribute to company OKR - simplifying Turnitin portfolio. What You’ll be Doing: - Lead and Empower Engineering Teams. Oversee and manage two highly efficient engineering teams, ensuring they are aligned with company objectives and consistently deliver high-impact results. Collaborate seamlessly with globally distributed engineering teams, product managers, and solution architects to drive alignment and innovation. Provide hands-on leadership by setting clear, measurable goals, fostering accountability, and inspiring a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - People Management and Development. Take full responsibility for managing and supporting the individuals within your teams. Build an environment where engineers feel valued, motivated, and empowered to perform at their best. Partner with cross-functional teams (Enterprise and Solution Architects, UX, Security, DevOps, Customer Success, Product Management) to deliver high-quality products on time, while addressing cross-departmental dependencies and challenges. - Provide Technical Leadership and Oversight. The Development Manager (DM) at Breakthrough T1D is integral in the day-to-day execution of integrated fundraising efforts to support our organizational strategy and mission. Their relationships with constituents and donors on behalf of Breakthrough T1D will ensure the expansion of our reach to support maximum chapter and event growth to further our mission. The Development Manager role focuses on relationship building with donors and fundraising volunteers within their assigned event portfolio, driving impact and strengthening both donor and volunteer pipeline resulting in increased revenue and results. This individual is a high-impact, high-energy team player who can effectively bring the mission to life within the community through collaboration, cultivation, inspiration, and engagement. They will implement activities to support organizational strategies through their assigned event revenue portfolio to drive optimal results and actively demonstrate and promote enterprise-wide mindsets. As one of the top performing chapters in the country, the Utah chapter plays a vital role in the organization's success. The Utah Chapter is part of the three-state Mountain West Territory (UT, CO, WY). The Utah Chapter has 2 full time staff (Chapter Manager/Director and Development Manager); 1 Chapter Board; and 2 annual events (Gala and Walk). The Chapter is also responsible for contributions toward other national events (Bike and Run) as well as non-event revenue such as major gifts, institutional giving, etc. In total, the Utah Chapter is responsible for leading an annual revenue budget of $1,224,000. While this is primarily a remote role, the candidate must be based along the Utah Wasatch Front. Day-to-day work is completed remotely; candidates must be available for in-person meetings throughout the Salt Lake City metro and events as needed. Some evenings, weekends and travel outside Utah is required. Key Responsibilities: Fundraising & Engagement - 60% - Implement revenue and engagement plans that drive new levels of performance and year-over-year growth in the chapter. This includes driving individual and corporate supporter growth within assigned event portfolio of Walk (peer to peer) and Gala (signature event). - Responsible for achieving personal event revenue goals and support the achievement of overall events, and ultimately chapter revenue and engagement goals. - In collaboration with national and chapter partners, implement annual strategies that will drive growth of assigned event portfolio through corporate and individual donor engagement and stewardship at the event level.
