About the role: Blackbaud University is the customer training team at Blackbaud, dedicated to powering social good with knowledge. In this role you will create interactive courses to enable both the technical skill and the nonprofit savvy of our customers. Blackbaud is seeking a full-time instructional designer to build educational content for our solutions. What you will be doing: (Job duties and responsibilities) - Design and develop effective, engaging courseware through skilled scripting, voice narrations, demos, graphics, and learning activities - Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, and peers - Convert complicated technical information from a subject matter expert in RDO/PTG into a customer-facing learning experience - Apply adult learning methodologies and techniques in course development - Prioritize and manage projects to completion and meet desired milestones - Build productive relationships and communicate with cross-functional teams - Align to rapid product release cycles with flexibility and poise - Follow corporate and team style and brand guidelines What we will want you to have: (Job requirements and preferences) - Bachelor’s degree or higher with concentration on Instructional Design - 2-4 years of experience in corporate learning and development - Demonstrable experience in Articulate 360 - Exceptional writing skills - Proven Project Management skills - Experience with Graphic Design - Experience using caption editing software - Experience with Video Editing (Camtasia preferred) - Experience with Audio Editing (Audacity preferred) - Experience with Motion Graphics Software (Adobe After Effects preferred) - Ability to work US East Coast hours - Advanced level English - Bonus: Experience using Generative AI tools Screening / Interview - preferred process: Email screening: Please provide 3-5 examples of any of the following: - Example of an eLearning course sample, if feasible (note to HR: occasionally, this is difficult because their work is the IP of a corporation, and they cannot share it) - Example of a PowerPoint presentation - Example of voice narration - Example of video editing - Example of audio editing - Example of graphic design / graphic savvy - Example that displays writing skills - Other samples can include anything that showcases your skills – if you provide a website, please direct us to specific examples on the site.
