As the Lead Test Engineer, you will own and evolve the test strategy for a large-scale, cloud-native data and analytics platform operating in a secure, IL4/5 AWS environment. You'll work closely with data engineers, cloud engineers, security teams, and product owners to ensure quality, performance, and reliability across ingestion pipelines, APIs, analytics services, and infrastructure. You'll lead the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks that span infrastructure, data, APIs, and user workflows, embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments. Beyond execution, you'll help shape testing standards, mentor junior testers, and serve as a quality advocate across the program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building testing capabilities from the ground up, working in complex cloud environments, and ensuring mission-critical systems operate as intended. Join us. You Have: - Experience designing and executing comprehensive test strategies for complex software systems - Experience creating and maintaining automated test frameworks and reusable test libraries - Experience testing cloud-based architectures, including data platforms and distributed systems - Experience with Python-based testing frameworks such as PyTest - Experience with API testing and backend validation - Experience validating data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality - Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments - Top Secret clearance - Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in software testing, or 14+ years of experience in software testing in lieu of a degree - IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ certification Nice If You Have: - Experience with AWS services supporting data and analytics such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, or Step Functions - Experience testing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Terragrunt - Experience with Playwright or similar UI automation frameworks - Experience validating CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar - Experience testing security-constrained or IL-level cloud environments - Experience with performance and load testing for data-intensive systems - Experience with data governance, metadata, or analytics platforms - Computing Environment Certification, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required. Provide a minimum of 1 time/month supervision (20-30 minutes) per NP using Zoom link provided by Thriveworks.
