Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist
EverAI
• Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms • Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.) • Preparing, maintaining required compliance documentation, e.g.: • Internal documentation under data protection, AI Governance, consumer rights, and similar laws • EverAI’s AI systems inventory (in line with EU guidance) • Risk assessments under applicable safety laws • Product & feature reviews (e.g., for consumer rights, data protection compliance) • Owning day-to-day compliance tasks: • Standard IP issues (e.g., DMCA notices, copycats) • Contract reviews (NDAs, licenses) • Legal terms updates (including TOS, Privacy Notices, and content policies) • Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments (e.g., the application of new laws or regulatory guidance to EverAI) • Guidance from & Regular Check-ins with our Ethics & Compliance Officer • Meeting with our ECO, a US lawyer by training, with 10+ years experience in litigation and in-house roles, on a regular basis to clarify questions, co-develop recommendations based on research, and share any relevant insights
Job Requirements
- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions
- At least 2 years of your experience must be working with contracts, generally, and data protection law, specifically.
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Interest in AI
- Strong communication & collaborative skills (perfectly fluent in English)
- Goal-oriented, ownership and commitment
- Doer mindset - we are moving fast and need people who can balance execution, planning, and strategy
- Humble - willing to learn, open to feedback
