Staff Data Engineer
GE Aerospace
• You will own data infrastructure, pipelines & database implementations needed for a new solution being built on Miro platform. • You will be responsible for ensuring data quality, data availability & performance for the datasets needed for this project • You will be responsible for managing ETLs & data storage solutions • Build a variety of data loading & data transformation methods using multiple tools and technologies. • Design & build automated Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) jobs based on data mapping specifications • Manage metadata structures needed for building reusable Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) components. • Analyze the impact of changes to downstream systems/products and recommend alternatives to minimize the impact. • Design robust data models • Work closely with the development team to understand the data needs • Collaborate with infra, security teams to ensure compliance, security & operational stability of data pipelines
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
- Exposure to industry standard data modeling tools
- Exposure to Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools like Informatica or Talend
- Exposure to industry standard data catalog, automated data discovery and data lineage tools
- Hands-on experience in programming languages like Java, Python or Scala
- Hands-on experience in writing SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines
- Expertise in data modeling for analytics and operational workloads; strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, logging, metrics, alerting, and performance tuning for data systems
- Demonstrated ability to design and document complex data architectures and lead others in implementing them.
