Partner with the best As a Software Engineer II, you'll design, build, and deploy highly-scalable, reliable, user-friendly solutions on our infrastructure. You'll collaborate with teams across Akamai to gather requirements, architect solutions, implement features, and perform unit testing. You'll also stay updated on emerging technologies and leverage them to enhance innovation and efficiency. As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for: - Developing software from design through testing and deployment, including new functionality, enhancements, and bug fixes - Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy changes in an agile environment - Measuring, maintaining and optimizing distributed system performance and reliability - Working in diverse nature of programming languages as needed Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: - Have 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - Exhibit proficient working knowledge of programming languages like Python, Rust, Java, Perl, C++, or Bash within Linux/Unix environments. - Have a track record of delivering reliable and secure software - Have experience with container platforms, such as Docker and Azure - Have good experience with SQL relational and NOSQL databases such as Apache Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL - Have solid written, verbal communication and presentation skills and some experience with working in agile teams Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
