Title: Senior Distribution Engineer 2 - Grid Location: Warrenville United States Job Description: Area of Interest Distribution Engineering Type Full Time - Regular Job ID 2026-23220 Business Group Grid Group Department Distribution Engineering Description This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment and lead other engineers and designers using your knowledge of engineering and design practices to: - Prepare/Review construction sketches and details for: - Overhead and underground network services (4 kV through 34 kV) - Structural analyses - Short circuit and voltage drop calculations - Bill of Material - Cost Estimates - Traffic control plans and/or permit drawings - Work on project teams with other engineers involved in the design of new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities. - Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews. - Work directly with the client representative to ask and answer questions related to the distribution design. - Analyze, design or review priority feeds. - Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components. - Plan modifications to the system as well as designing and overseeing complex tasks. - Develop work packages and provide construction support, when necessary. - Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs. - Develop your career via peer-learning by way of S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice.” This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of spending three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package. Qualifications We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience: - This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program. - 7 or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience to be able to review work by others. - Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application. - Knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, and distribution software programs including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, etc. - Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD. - Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34 kV). - PLS CADD experience, highly preferred. - Strong communication skills. - Able to lead a project team. Valued but not required skills and experience: - Professional Engineering Registration or able to obtain a PE within 5 years. - Experience in utility distribution inspections and/or construction. - Familiarity with various distribution design/analysis software. - Familiarity with GIS software. As a result of our incredible success and growth, we are looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to join us. Responsibilities include - Play a key role in the Analytics Engineering function and dbt environment. You will build and maintain scalable data models from the staging layer through to the "Golden Layer," with a focus on performance and reliability on AWS Redshift. - Serve as a technical data partner for Product, Operations, Commercial, and other business functions.
