Job Description: Therapists are trained professionals who help individuals, families, and couples address and overcome various mental health challenges. They provide a range of therapeutic services within their associated geographical region, field and scope of practice such as counseling, psychotherapy, and behavior modification techniques. As a Therapist, your primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat clients/patients based on their individual needs. This involves conducting thorough assessments to understand their presenting concerns, gathering relevant background information, rendering a diagnosis, and formulating a treatment plan. Therapists utilize evidence-based interventions and techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, improve their relationships, and enhance their overall well-being. Required credentials include professional licenses in the fields of counseling, social work, and/or marital/family therapy. Essential Job Functions: - Provide individual, group, family and/or other practical counseling in a variety of settings to meet the needs of the client/patient and their goals of treatment. - Complete intake/screening and/or comprehensive assessment process within appropriate time frames as designated by state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards. - Determine and document diagnosis based on comprehensive assessment. - Develop treatment plans for clients/patients in accordance with state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards that demonstrate individualization and evolution based on information gathered from assessment. - Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings, providing feedback on all pertinent cases. - Responsible for meeting department-specific Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) requirements. - Work closely with internal departments to ensure authorized services are approved and adequate information is provided within specified time frames. - Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards. - Ensure that services are entered within the appropriate time frame, appropriate format, notes refer to treatment plans, etc. - Correct any file/charting deficiencies within the appropriate time frame. - Assist clients/patients through the transition process and complete final correspondence such as transition summary, plan, letter, etc. - Complete all mandatory training, meeting state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards. - Represent the agency within the community in a professional manner. - Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients/patients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies/procedures. - Handle crisis situations as they arise. Participates in or coordinates emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of crisis. - Assist with providing professional/clinical supervision to individuals in training once all professional requirements have been met. - Facilitate group counseling, group education, family therapy, and individual sessions including specialty services such as trauma and co-occurring therapy. - Provide training and guidance on clinical issues that may arise and evidenced based practices. - Provide clinical consultation to treatment team members when necessary. - Demonstrate interest in long term and short term goals and objectives of the company. - Other duties as assigned by leadership. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Must have training and demonstrate expertise regarding diagnostic criteria of individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health issues. - Thorough knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods, principles and techniques as they relate to mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services. - Detailed knowledge of the problems encountered by persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders. - Considerable knowledge of the methods and modalities as well as the legal requirements and court procedures related to treating mental health and/or substance use disorders. - Knowledge of supervisory and training techniques and practices used in a mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment setting. - Aptitude to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned programs. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. - Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively verbally and in writing to produce clear and concise reports. - Able to establish effective relationships via telephone or telehealth and personal contacts. - Able to follow direction and accept supervision. Experience and Education Qualifications: - Must possess at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field. - Holds licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state that they are practicing as a professional counselor or social worker. - Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Must be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in. - Must be willing and comfortable with providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve (training will be provided). Supervisory Requirements: - None Employment Requirements: - Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check. - Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment. - All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. - Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance. - First Aid certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date. - Obtain CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date. - Behavioral Management training completed within thirty (30) days of employment or first available class after start date: - CPI for Residential programs - Peaceful Intervention or Verbal De-escalation for Outpatient programs - Demonstrate understanding of Collaborative Service Goals (CSGs) within 30 Days of employment. - Achievement of thirty-six (36) hour training requirements within a 2 year period in accordance with 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1. - ASAM Programs Only: Achievement of fifty (50) hours of training on an annual basis. - Growth and Development form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment. - Privileging and Credentialing form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment. - Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of the program to which the associate is assigned. - Provide a copy of applicable certifications/licenses. - For school based services programs, must be able to provide services at the school site during school operating hours. Physical Requirements: ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
