Software Development Specialist – Java

• Develop event-driven microservices using Java 21+, Spring Boot 3.5+ and Spring Cloud Stream. • Implement event-streaming pipelines with Apache Kafka (MSK), ensuring Exactly-Once Semantics, DLQ handling and efficient partitioning. • Define and evolve data contracts using Avro and a Schema Registry. • Optimize persistence in PostgreSQL and distributed caching with Redis. • Ensure advanced observability with Datadog APM, structured logging and custom metrics. • Work in an AWS environment (ECS Fargate, MSK, CloudWatch) following DevOps practices and CI/CD.

Job Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot).
  • Advanced expertise in Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with AWS (ECS, Parameter Store, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency in automated testing (JUnit, Testcontainers).
  • Experience with Kotlin 2.x (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Datadog APM, Avro and Liquibase (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GraalVM Native Image (preferred).
  • Open-source project contributions (plus).
  • AWS certification (plus).

In this role, you will design, operationalize, and optimize the data persistence layer that powers large-scale, mission-critical systems. You’ll work closely with SRE, Platform, and Engineering teams to ensure performance, reliability, automation, and operational excellence across the database environment. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building resilient data infrastructure—well beyond traditional database administration.
