EHR Data Transformation Lead

ASSYST, Inc.

ASSYST is seeking an EHR Data Transformation Lead to support Electronic Health Record (EHR) migration initiatives. This role provides a combination of Millennium data management expertise and hands on technical development and data extraction approaches within Cerner Millennium environments for our client in Austin, TX (Remote role). The candidate will ensure that clinical workflow intent and operational requirements are accurately translated into Cerner Command Language (CCL) logic, data extracts, and downstream reporting and analytics solutions. This position operates under the direction, policies, and standards, and collaborates closely with clinical stakeholders, informatics governance bodies, and technical delivery teams to support EHR modernization, data migration, reporting, and legacy system retirement efforts. Responsibilities: - Assess, analyze, and document clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary care settings. - Translate clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications for data extraction, reporting, and analytics solutions. - Design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts within Cerner Millennium environments. - Perform complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from Cerner Millennium Oracle schemas. - Support enterprise wide EHR data migration, reporting, and legacy system retirement initiatives. - Develop, maintain, and support structured data feeds, flat file extracts, and ETL processes. - Troubleshoot and resolve CCL performance issues and downstream data integration or reporting challenges. - Serve as a liaison between clinical informatics stakeholders and technical delivery teams to ensure accurate implementation of clinical intent. - Clearly communicate data limitations, technical constraints, and system dependencies to non technical audiences. - Execute and tune CCL scripts, manage batch jobs, and support production and non production environments in accordance with the standards. Required Skills & Experience: - 11+ years of experience with clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and translating clinical requirements into technical/data specifications. - 11+ years of advanced, hands-on experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL), including writing, executing, and tuning scripts in production environments. - Proven track record supporting large-scale Cerner Millennium implementations, migrations, or optimization initiatives. - Working knowledge of Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases. - 11+ years of experience with SQL, Linux, and designing/supporting ETL processes and enterprise data extraction/migration patterns. - Experience with REST / SOA development and healthcare data integrations. - Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, C, C++, Python, Perl, or OCI. - Experience with data extraction, system integration, and general code development. - Knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and performance tuning. - Hands-on experience developing or supporting services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI). Preferred Skills & Experience: - Specific experience supporting and maintaining Cerner Millennium environments. - Prior experience serving as a Senior Cerner Consultant or Technical Lead.
