VMDR Data and Reporting Analyst Department: IT Employment Type: Fixed Term - Full Time Location: Home India Description The VMDR (Vulnerability Management, Detection & Response) Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and actionable insights that support the organisation’s vulnerability and patching lifecycle. The role continuously monitors the state of VMDR activities, identifies failures or deviations, and collaborates closely with SecOps Patching Engineers to drive remediation and operational improvement. Key Responsibilities - Continuously monitor VMDR data across ServiceNow (SNOW), vulnerability scanners, patching tools, and operational dashboards. - Identify failures, delays, or anomalies in patch deployment, vulnerability remediation, or change execution. - Coordinate with SecOps Patching Engineers to validate issues, track progress, and ensure timely resolution. - Maintain real‑time visibility of the VMDR operational state, highlighting risks and bottlenecks. - Track and report on: - Mean Time to Remediate (MTTR) - SLA compliance across patching and vulnerability remediation - Risk trending across assets, business units, and technology stacks - Deployment success/failure rates - Change quality and adherence - Analyse patterns to identify recurring issues, systemic gaps, or areas requiring process improvement. - Provide insights that support prioritisation, risk reduction, and operational planning. - Produce structured daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering: - Patch deployment progress - Vulnerability remediation status - Compliance performance - Risk posture and trending - Focus areas for engineering and leadership - Develop and maintain dashboards in SNOW, Power BI, or equivalent tools to support real‑time decision‑making. - Ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and aligned with the VMDR service definition and governance model. - Work closely with SecOps, IT Operations, Product Teams, and Change Management to validate data and ensure alignment. - Present insights to technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership. - Support governance forums, operational reviews, and risk committees with data‑driven insights. - Identify gaps in data quality, reporting processes, and tooling. - Recommend improvements to dashboards, data pipelines, and reporting templates. - Contribute to the maturity of the VMDR operating model by enhancing visibility, automation, and governance. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field. - 4-6 years of experience in vulnerability management or cybersecurity. - Experience in IT change management, communications, or service governance roles. - Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Change Enablement. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non‑technical audiences. - Ability to manage multiple streams of communication and change activity simultaneously. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Experience working with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy, etc.) - Strong experience with ServiceNow (SNOW), especially reporting, dashboards, CMDB, and change records. - Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and producing actionable insights. - Experience with vulnerability management, patching cycles, or security operations. - Strong understanding of MTTR, SLA metrics, and risk scoring methodologies. - Proficiency with reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, Tableau, or similar). - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. - Familiarity with VMDR tooling (Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, etc.). - Experience in ITIL processes, especially Change Enablement and Incident Management. - Understanding of risk frameworks and security governance. - Experience in enterprise or regulated environments.
