This is a remote position. Our client, a mid-sized tech-driven commercial MGA and insurance wholesaler in the US, is seeking an AI Process Optimization Lead to drive real, measurable efficiency gains across the business. This role sits at the intersection of operations and AI. You’ll embed directly with teams (underwriting, claims, operations, finance), map workflows end-to-end, identify inefficiencies, and apply AI to improve speed, cost, and output. You’ll build and test solutions hands-on - from quick MVPs to AI-enabled workflows - and partner with product/engineering when scaling is needed. This is not a strategy-only role. You’ll be expected to move quickly, build, iterate, and deliver tangible results. The ideal candidate understands both business processes and AI well enough to translate problems into practical, high-impact solutions. Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent Location: MUST be physically located in the US or Ontario, Canada (Visa sponsorship is not available) What You'll Do: - Embed with business teams across the company (underwriting, claims, wholesale, audits, operations, finance, product) to deeply understand current workflows, bottlenecks, and pain points. - Map end-to-end processes and identify specific opportunities where AI can automate, augment, or accelerate work - prioritized by business impact and feasibility. - Define velocity metrics for each function (submissions reviewed/day, time-to-quote, claims processed/day, close cycle time, etc.) and set measurable productivity targets. - Design and implement AI-powered workflow solutions - using approved tools and platforms - that deliver tangible throughput improvements. - Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track velocity metrics across functions, making progress visible to leadership on a weekly and monthly cadence. - Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and engineering - translating business needs into technical requirements and ensuring AI solutions fit real workflows. - Lead change management for AI adoption - training teams, creating documentation, driving usage, and reinforcing that productivity improvement is an ongoing operating discipline. - Evaluate and recommend AI tools and platforms for company's approved toolset, working with engineering to vet for security, compliance, and data handling requirements. - Support the AI Committee with enterprise-wide velocity reporting, tool approval recommendations, and cross-functional best practice sharing. - Identify opportunities to replicate wins across company's 12+ product verticals - a workflow improvement in commercial auto that can be applied to construction, workers comp, and beyond. - Ensure all AI process solutions meet regulatory obligations (state insurance regulations, HIPAA for workers comp, CCPA) and data governance standards. Requirements - 5+ years of experience in process improvement, business operations, or consulting - with recent 2 years focused on AI/automation-driven transformation in the insurance industry. - Demonstrated ability to map complex business processes, identify optimization opportunities, and deliver measurable improvements. - Experience with LLM-based tools and applications (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) for business process automation. - You must be an active, daily AI user - not someone who has read about it but someone who lives it. You have built custom AI skills and agents for your own work, incorporated third-party AI libraries and tools into your personal and professional workflows, and can demonstrate specific examples of how AI has changed the way you operate. We are looking for practitioners, not observers. - Strong proficiency with data analysis and visualization (SQL, Python, Excel, Tableau/Power BI, or similar). - Experience defining KPIs and velocity metrics, building measurement frameworks, and driving accountability against targets. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - ability to work effectively with underwriters, claims adjusters, operations staff, and C-suite executives. - Experience leading change management for technology adoption across cross-functional teams. - Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment with ambiguity. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Benefits - Employee Ownership Program - every eligible employee shares in the financial rewards that grow when the company grows - Professional development opportunities - Owner Referral Program - Work from home reimbursement for remote/hybrid roles - Canary emergency financial assistance program - Comprehensive medical, dental, vision - Life/AD&D Insurance - Confidential, Employee Assistance Program - Health Savings Account, includes company contribution - Short-term disability - Voluntary benefits - supplemental accident, critical illness, hospital insurance - Employee discounts - 401(k) Plan with company match contribution - Addition Wealth Financial Wellness Program - Various Time Off Programs - 11 company paid holidays ------------------------ At Talencore, we stand against racism and discriminatory practices. We stand against violence. We proudly support and partner with organizations that lift people up so everyone can succeed and thrive, and honour our candidates' experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
