Overview Eagleview, a leader in aerial imagery and derived geospatial content, is hiring a Director of Architecture as part of the Global Engineering organization. The Director will lead a global group of Enterprise and Solution architects in the design, governance, and evolution of Eagleview’s enterprise architecture. This is a hands-on managerial and functional role that will partner with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and Operations. You will define architectural standards & reference architectures, identify & drive next-generation technology frameworks, and govern the evolution of our overall technology footprint. Our technology ecosystem spans continental-scale geospatial content acquisition, production, and distribution capabilities as well as SaaS, DaaS, and Agentic go-to-market capabilities. This role requires deep expertise and broad experience in guiding the evolution of at-scale geospatial content production, data quality & distribution architectures that are performant & highly available to serve our breadth of geospatial content customers spanning virtually all industries. This is a full-time, remote role, with a salary range of $177,200-$244,000, with bonus potential. Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture & Team Leadership - Define and maintain the enterprise technology architecture strategy, principles, standards and evolutionary roadmap supporting long-term business outcomes. - Act as a trusted advisor to R&D leadership, influencing short- and long-term strategic technology investment decisions while stewarding mission critical architectural evolutions. - Passionately promote and demonstrate a culture of accountability, continuous innovation, and measured risk taking across the architecture function. - Directly manage and lead our existing team of Platform & Enterprise Architects while indirectly governing our global staff of local Solution & System Architects. - Identify architectural talent gaps and mentor rising and high-potential architectural talent across the R&D organization. Technology Governance & Standards - Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and ADR best practices including the creation and stewardship of the organization’s reference architecture(s). - Define and deploy an architectural governance model that helps unify our technology decision making and institutionalizes strong adherence to architectural guidelines. - Lead architecture review boards that drive adoption of both logical and physical architectural standards while ensuring compliance with security best practices. Cloud, Infrastructure, & AI platform engagement - Partner with Cloud Engineering to help guide the scaling and optimization of cloud infrastructure while driving advancements in automated software deployment pipelines. - Guide the evolution of key cloud platform capabilities including observability, cost management, API governance, intelligent provisioning, and storage optimization. - Provide requirements for Internal Developer Platform (IDP) evolution to improve developer productivity, increase release velocity, and ensure high initial delivered quality. - Partner with the Head of AI to accelerate the deployment of advanced CV/ML and Agentic AI platform capabilities. - Help lead the R&D organization’s pivot to a human-in-the-loop AI-driven software factory model. Application, Integration & Information Architecture Stewardship - Actively guide the annual technology roadmapping efforts across our application, distribution, and content factory ecosystems in partnership with senior R&D leaders. - Relentlessly pursue an API-first, event-based architectural evolution across the overall technology landscape. - Partner with the IT organization to guide the evolution of highly reliable data integration architectures that facilitate billing, CRM, and other enterprise IT capabilities. Qualifications - 10+ years as a hands-on Enterprise or Platform Architect in a technology company setting with 15+ total years of technology delivery experience. - 3+ years leading an architecture function including people management. - Track record of driving architectural transformation while establishing strong architectural governance models preferably in a large geospatial platform organization. - Expertise in cloud-based data platform evolution, at-scale geospatial content production & distribution, event-driven architecture transformation, and/or data quality framework implementation will be critical to your success. - Experience playing a lead Architect role on multiple high-volume SaaS, DaaS, and Agentic technology deployments is required, preferably in the Geospatial domain. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM field, Master’s degree preferred. Key Skills - Excellent written, diagrammatic, and verbal skills. - Ability to balance strategic vision with practical and realistic architectural evolution. - Architectural governance process design and implementation. - Team and personnel leadership of both direct and indirect reports. - Hands-on PoC and/or prototyping capabilities. - Demonstrated geospatial domain expertise, preferably in the context of large-scale geospatial content production and platforms.
