Job Description: Field Service Technician Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to join its world- class team. This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies. Location: Remote Field Office (Remote employee) Role and Responsibilities: - Provide fuel cell service during field visit dispatches - Operate a service vehicle safely - Create daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks (regularly assigned to work autonomously) - Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasks - Follow company procedures and protocols - Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutions - Cooperate with a technical team and share information across the organization - Comprehend and follow customer access requirements - Maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory - Maintain/build positive relationships with customers - Produce timely and detailed service reports as required - Other responsibilities as assigned - Required to reside within the Service District - Training: Two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in Sunnyvale, CA Education and Experience: The following MINIMUM levels of experience and or education are required: - High school diploma & 6 years’ experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields; - Or – - Technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, Electrician Certification in a technical field and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrician, electronics technician, field service, technician, test engineer, etc.) - Or – - 5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical, combined with electrical-related military experience (eg. Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, or other technical position, military certified electrician or technician, Gas Turbine Electrician) Skills and Experience: - Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills required - Familiar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E) - Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with any of the following technologies: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor based control platforms - Experience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment - Able to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprints - Experience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power - Mechanical system aptitude, to include troubleshooting/repair skills - Highly motivated and able to work autonomously - Demonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problems - Team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism - Communicates written and verbal English effectively - Able to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions - Able to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs., occasionally may lift up to 70 lbs. - Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the work day - Able to use a ladder or stepstool regularly - Able to facilitate 24X7 on-call duty - Able to facilitate shift work as needed - Able to regularly work alternative schedules (one week/month of Wednesday-Sunday, for example) - Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goals - Able to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service District (e.g. “Southern California District”) - Able to travel occasionally to other US and international destinations - Able to maintain a driving record in good standing #BEI2024 Salary Ranges: $26.81 - $38.59

The Field Service Technician (FST) is primarily engaged in completing preventive maintenance tasks on Varian Medical Systems (VMS) linear accelerator and imaging systems, ensuring that our customers’ equipment operates efficiently. The Hardware FST is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all designated VMS equipment according to instructions and company guidelines. Each FST operates in a designated field service region and represents VMS. Job Role: - Proactively perform specific periodic and preventative maintenance activities on Linear Accelerators and associated medical equipment outside of normal business hours per documented procedures. - Manage time and maintain a daily/weekly schedule to effectively perform preventative maintenance on systems throughout the service region. - Understand and recognize the need to escalate incidents when necessary and/or request additional assistance from more tenured representatives or leadership. - Maintain administrative duties, which includes timely completion and submission of field service work orders and expense reports along with management of consignment (parts) and other required documentation according to VMS procedures. - Communicate required follow up actions to primary assigned representative. Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: - Excellent time management and professional communication skills both internal to Varian and externally to customers. - Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships through utilization of strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Frequent use and application of technical documentation (both electronic and paper documents), standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the field. - Basic knowledge of electronic, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems. Familiar with basic operation of handheld test equipment used for verification/checkout of electronic equipment to include Digital Multimeter (DVM/DMM), and Digital Oscilloscope. - Basic technical experience with micro-computers/PC based systems. - Basic technical knowledge and experience with simple hand tools. - Maintain Vendor Credentialing status and compliance with both company and customer defined requirements necessary to gain customer site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include but are not limited to: Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN) Criminal background checks, Drug screens, Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus, COVID-19), Annual TB testing, and other assigned training. - Minimum: HS Degree or Equivalent Preferred: Vocational training or military experience with electronics. The base pay range for this position is: $45,180 - $62,128 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
