Position Summary: This position will provide strategic leadership and oversee the digital engineering function by managing a team of engineers, defining technical strategies and roadmaps, ensuring successful project delivery, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Coordinates with stakeholders, allocates resources, drives technical excellence, and creates alignment between business goals and technical solutions to ensure continuous improvement of digital engineering capabilities within the organization. Additional Responsibilities: - Oversees digital engineering projects and ensures successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline - Contributes to the formulation of long-term plans, technology adoption strategies, and innovation initiatives to drive digital transformation - Leverages expertise to guide and provide insights to the team, ensuring the use of best practices, optimizing development processes, and resolving technical challenges - Collaborates with senior leadership to define the digital engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals - Participates in the design and architecture of digital solutions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers - Engages with key stakeholders, including business leaders, clients, and partners, to understand their needs, gather requirements, and manage expectations - Establishes and maintains quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality digital solutions - Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the digital engineering function, identifying areas for enhancement, implementing process improvements, and optimizing development workflows - Leads a team of digital engineers, provides guidance and mentorship, and supports to drive their professional growth Required Qualifications: - 7+ years of software development experience - 3+ years of JavaScript development experience - 2+ years directing teams throughout the software development life cycle operations, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment Preferred Qualifications: - Node.js experience - Software Engineering Master Certification (SEMC) preferred - Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) preferred - Agile experience, working with Product, Design, and other stakeholders Education: - Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $130,295.00 - $260,590.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Qualifications - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. - Have held the position of a senior engineer for at least two years. - Have led a team as a technical lead/team lead for at least one year. - Over six years of experience developing and testing web applications. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure engineers are exceeding the needs of the business. - The ability to coach engineers in shipping high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code in a high-velocity environment. - A strong interest in joining a highly collaborative environment and working daily with Developers, Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and QA Engineers. Requirements - Expertise in multiple server-side languages such as Go or Python (bonus). - Proficiency in one or more modern JavaScript frameworks such as React (bonus). - Familiarity with database technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB (bonus). - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS (bonus). - Strong interest in e-commerce, logistics, and/or sustainability (bonus).
