Data Integration Development Intern

Leidos is seeking a university student to join our fully remote team as a Data Integration Development Intern supporting CIO Managed Business Applications initiatives. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise data integrations within a structured, secure, and well-governed environment. Our team develops and maintains data integrations that enable secure information exchange between enterprise platforms, including Workday (Leidos’ HR system) and other internal and external applications. The selected candidate will support the development and testing of structured data transformations using XSLT, XML, and API-based technologies under the guidance of experienced integration engineers. This role focuses on contributing within defined development and testing environments, assisting with data mapping, transformation logic, validation activities, and technical documentation. Interns will gain exposure to enterprise SaaS architecture, integration lifecycle management, and secure data handling practices in a production-scale organization. This internship provides practical experience in enterprise system interoperability, structured data engineering, and integration development practices that are highly transferable across modern enterprise environments. Primary Responsibilities - Develop, enhance, and maintain XSLT transformations supporting Workday inbound and outbound integrations - Support integration development lifecycle activities including design, build, test, and deployment - Troubleshoot integration and data transformation issues - Assist in documenting integration logic, technical specifications, and mapping requirements - Support API-based integrations using REST and/or SOAP web services Basic Qualifications - Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program - US citizenship is required - Foundational knowledge of APIs and system integration concepts - Familiarity with one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated experience with XSLT (academic projects, coursework, or prior internship experience acceptable) If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
