This position is accountable to understand business objectives, how work is being conducted, analyze alternatives, and recommend solutions. This position is accountable for performing requirements elicitation, analysis, representation and validation. This position requires strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information elicited from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into detail, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. This position is accountable for the consistency, quality, and availability of TDS TELECOM's business processes within an integrated software systems environment. This role is integral to the organization’s ability to produce process improvements through system transformation, process re-engineering and the automation of manual processes. This position requires strong collaborative skills and the ability to work with cross functional and technical teams to depict/model the major TDS TELECOM operations, processes, encompassing architectures, workflows, and events. So that, projects can deliver effective end-to-end solutions, while achieving business goals, process alignment, and value. The scope of work includes major system projects that cross functional boundaries and support company-wide mission-critical business operations. *This role is intentionally designed to bring process, flow, and demand management expertise into the Advanced Analytics function. Deep domain expertise in analytics is not required and, on its own, is not sufficient for success in this role. We are specifically seeking candidates with formal expertise, training, or demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: - Work intake and demand management - Workflow optimization and WIP management - Backlog prioritization and flow efficiency - Process design and continuous improvement Candidates whose primary experience is in analytics, reporting, or technical delivery without ownership of intake and workflow systems are unlikely to be a strong fit. Responsibilities - Develop current state processes, elicit useful and harmful attributes of them, and facilitate stakeholder groups to consensus regarding solution components, requirements and business process designs. Elicit, analyze, validate and document requirements in a format traceable back to benefits and forward into execution. - Develop and maintain a common BPA (Business Process Architecture) leveraging industry established frameworks such as the Business Process Frameworx/eTOM. Describe and model detailed Level 0-5 processes, used to influence strategy, projects, business process optimization, adaptive IT systems, and determine gaps between business needs and IT. Activities involved in the development of a BPA include: the creation of a big picture view of the organization and its context, establishing a common vocabulary across TDS Telecom, the creation and maintenance of asingle business process landscape with its associated dependencies, such as related applications and data. Keep current with: - business process architecture technologies and management trends. - trends in business process integration, such as technology advances in XML, application integration tools, or business process modeling tools. - process flow capabilities and technologies. development directions of key applications purchased by or developed within Telecom. - Build proficiency in, learn and adhere to industry and company practices for core business analysis functions, including but not limited to facilitation, elicitation, analysis, validation and representation of business, stakeholder and solution requirements. - Define technical standards and guidelines governing when and how to use the BPA. Work with other analysts, architects and designers to drive reuse of BPA components, with the goal of moving from a functionally siloed organization to one that is end-to-end process oriented. - Work with integration interface stakeholders, including process owners, business and systems analysts, application designers and database administrators, to define the structure for integration. Ensure that business process requirements such as currency, availability, response times and transactional volumes are understood and documented. - Represent Telecom by working with vendors to understand, influence and drive technology improvements in vendor package application software capabilities related to service oriented architectures (SOA) and application programming interfaces (API) consistent with the, eTOM definitions and other standards. - Review interface project deliverables to ensure business process quality and traceability of requirements, and for adherence to all business process quality management standards. Ensure that the interface designs incorporate business process usage standards, such as use of elements of the established BPA. - Ensure record retention standards related to data elements defined in the BPA are adhered to according to company policies. Qualifications Required Job Qualifications - Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience. - 5+ years of systems development, business analysis, or business process administration experience including at least 3 years of business process administration and/or modeling in a complex process environment.
