About the Role We are looking for a highly analytical and systems-oriented Manager to lead the evolution of our financial planning infrastructure. As the primary owner of Pigment, you will bridge the gap between complex financial logic and scalable system design. You won’t just be maintaining a tool; you will be building the "source of truth" that drives our annual planning, rolling forecasts, and real-time executive reporting. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of connected planning and "multidimensional thinking." You should be comfortable translating a messy spreadsheet or a high-level business requirement into a sophisticated, automated, and user-friendly Pigment workspace. What you’ll do - Pigment Architecture & Ownership: Serve as the Lead Architect for our Pigment environment. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle: discovery, design, build, UAT, and deployment - Model Building: Assist in the building and refining of financial models (Headcount, Revenue/ARR, OpEx, and Cash Flow) directly within Pigment, ensuring they are dynamic, scalable, and audit-ready - Data Strategy & Integrations: Provide overall support for the Finance Systems roadmap. Partner with our Biz Tech and Accounting to optimize data flows between Pigment and our tech stack (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, Snowflake) - Enablement: Act as the internal champion for Pigment. You will create documentation and lead training sessions to ensure the broader Finance and Business Org can self-serve and trust the data - Process Engineering: Look beyond the software to improve the process. You will identify bottlenecks in our current planning cycles and automate them away What you’ll need - Experience: 5+ years of experience in Finance, Data and Systems, Finance Systems or a similar role. At least 2+ years of hands-on experience as a "Model Builder" in a connected planning tool (Pigment experience is a huge plus, but any planning tool such as Anaplan or Adaptive is a plus) - Systems Fluency: You think in dimensions, versions, and data types. You understand how to structure formulas that are efficient and easy for others to follow - Problem Solver: You have a "builder" mindset. • Your mission is to lead the world-class engineering organization (~50 people) that enables Help Scout to deliver innovative products and delight customers. You will helm our technical vision, develop our Engineering leaders, and define and execute an AI strategy that allows us to achieve ambitious product and business goals. • You’ll own: - **Technical strategy**: Your job is to deliver a product that’s performant, secure, and reliable for customers. You'll define and execute an AI strategy that allows us to achieve an ambitious product vision centered around intelligence, while leveraging AI to unlock new capabilities across Help Scout. You’ll also be focused on code modernization efforts to ensure the team can deliver product improvements at a high velocity. - **Organizational Leadership**: The organization is roughly 50 people. We have two departments: Product and Platform. Your top priority is to attract, hire, and empower the most talented engineers we can find. At Help Scout, commitment to excellence and craft is table stakes. You’ll be accountable for maintaining that standard across the board, raising that standard in critical areas for the business, and quantifying its impact on the business. - **Cross-Functional Leadership**: You’ll be responsible for communicating the Engineering strategy with teammates inside and outside of the organization. It’s important that everyone knows what we’ve accomplished, how it impacts the business, and where we’re headed next. You’ll bring technical expertise to crucial business conversations at the executive level, and you’ll help our engineering teams advocate for their work across the business. - **Engineering Investments**: You'll be accountable for the largest people and platform investments at Help Scout. That means owning the Engineering P&L, partnering closely with our strategic finance team to forecast and manage costs, and communicating clearly about where we're investing and why. You make smart tradeoffs and can defend them. - **Roadmap execution**: Engineering, Product, and Design operate in a shared ownership model where the three disciplines make decisions together. Ultimately, it's your job to show up as a partner, make clear agreements with company stakeholders, and either meet them or renegotiate them.

• Ensure high reliability and correctness for the Issuing surface area, including APIs and services powering core card and account lifecycle flows • Lead delivery of new features and improvements across card issuance (physical + virtual), onboarding (KYB/KYC), and tokenization-related capabilities • Raise the bar on operational excellence: observability, incident response, on-call readiness, and pragmatic reliability improvements • Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way • Partner closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements early and keep engineering time focused on the highest-impact work • Lead efforts to improve systems, processes, and documentation so new team members can ramp quickly • Participate in and help evolve the team’s on-call rotation

• Take ownership of building and evolving the Rencore Governance platform across all layers • Align and guide three engineering teams by providing context, direction, and future-proof architectural thinking • Drive prioritization to ensure we focus on the highest-impact work • Own the technical quality of the backlog and support teams in execution • Raise the bar for engineering excellence: clean architecture, code quality, test automation, and CI/CD • Continuously improve development and QA processes to increase speed and reliability • Establish a metrics-driven delivery approach to better understand and improve performance • Ensure responsible AI practices are embedded across the entire SDLC • Support and grow your team through coaching, feedback, and development planning
