• Design, implement, and optimize Solidity-based smart contracts for projects related to the protocol, focusing on security, efficiency, and maintainability. • Provide technical guidance and design feedback for external developers building on the protocol and Unichain, including hook developers and DeFi projects. • Explore and prototype new DeFi primitives, trading mechanisms, and smart contract architectures to expand the protocol’s capabilities. • Participate in design sessions and code reviews, ensuring high standards in code quality, security, and organization. • Implement unit tests, fuzz testing, and gas optimizations to ensure smart contract reliability and performance. • As a Protocol Engineer, the candidate may work on: • Hooks and reference implementations for the protocol's latest version • Experimental swapping UX designs • Indexers and graph traversal algorithms • Composable DeFi legos • SDK abstractions and developer tooling • Periphery integrations such as liquidity management tools and swap-and-add functionalities

• Conduct thorough reviews and audits of smart contracts to identify any potential security issues, bugs, or vulnerabilities. • Develop test cases and procedures to ensure the accuracy and functionality of smart contracts. • Analyze and interpret code to identify potential security issues and propose solutions to mitigate these risks. • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology and smart contract auditing techniques. • Work closely with our founders and engineering team to develop, design, and implement high-impact features and security solutions.

• Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic road maps for complex, Layer-1 blockchain projects. • Manage individual projects, priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise. • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, coding standards and best blockchain basics. • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of complex software components on the blockchain. • Take on end-to-end ownership of critical software components related to our L1. • Design and develop innovative new consensus and protocol software. • Ensure performance optimization, and making scalability / reliability improvements to the software. • Resolve issues, debugging errors and fixing code to improve the reliability and security of Shardeum software components. • The tech stack you will be using is: Nodejs, TypeScript, SQLite, Postgres, React and Vuejs. • The development environment will be: Linux, Git, AWS, Docker and VS Code.
