Role Description We are seeking an experienced ATO Specialist to lead the security authorization process for the VA Chatbot program. This role will be responsible for planning, documenting, and executing all activities required to obtain and maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) in accordance with VA and federal standards. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), excels at producing and maintaining security documentation, and can champion Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and other security priorities across the program. As the ATO Specialist, you will: - Guide the program through all stages of the security authorization process, from initial planning to continuous monitoring. - Prepare and maintain essential security documentation, including: - Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) - System Security Plan (SSP) - Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) - Security Assessment Reports (SARs) - Work closely with engineering and program management to ensure compliance with VA security policies and the RMF. - Generate control documents and track ATO status over time. - Advocate for security best practices, including Zero Trust Architecture, ensuring that the Voicebot platform remains secure, compliant, and resilient.
