Senior DevOps Engineer
Five9
• Design, implement, and automate components of large-scale distributed cloud systems. • Build tools, automation, and workflows to improve availability, scalability, latency, and operational efficiency. • Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to deploy high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. • Monitor production and development environments and implement preventive and corrective measures to ensure platform reliability. • Participate in incident response, debugging, and root cause analysis for production issues. • Collaborate across teams to deliver consistent and reliable solutions aligned with. • Document designs, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides clearly and effectively. • Contribute to improvements in reliability metrics such as availability, MTTD, and MTTR.
Job Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps Engineering, DevOps, or production operations.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting systems, debugging production issues, and working with networking concepts.
- 3+ years of supporting public cloud (OpenStack, AWS, or GCP), with data center experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and automation, using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Working knowledge of databases, networking, containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows (e.g., GitLab).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
