We pride ourselves on our dedication to linguistic excellence and client satisfaction. We are expanding our independent contractor team and seeking experienced US-based Transcriptionists to join us. We are seeking experienced TRANSCRIPTIONISTS to join our independent contractor team. You will be providing court-certified transcriptions from English human voice audio files into English written text (verbatim). To be considered for hire, you must meet all minimum requirements listed below. Qualified candidates must provide a one-year history (minimum) of experience transcribing audio files into written text for courts, local, state and/or federal government agencies. Projects are assigned on an as-needed basis according to demand and your availability. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You must meet ALL of the following requirements: - Live in the United States. - U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Legal Resident. - 18+ years of age. - High School Diploma or higher. - Have a PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE (current) - or - willingness to undergo the process of obtaining it. - At least one (1) year of professional experience providing court-certified Transcriptions for courts and/or local, state and/or federal government agencies. - Certified Electronic Transcriber (CET) designation or the equivalent by a recognized qualifying body. See questionnaire included with this application for a list of qualifying bodies. - Deep familiarity and expertise with court transcription standards and procedures. - High proficiency in English listening and writing skills. - Reliable desktop PC or laptop with dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection. - Proficiency operating high-fidelity headsets and specialized transcription software. - Proficiency using modern office software (e.g. Google Mail/Docs/Sheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, PDFs, etc.). - Strict adherence to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA), NDA, and other MSA-related Addenda. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES - High-fidelity Transcription: Produce verbatim English written transcripts from English human voice audio files; accurately identify and label multiple speakers including when dialogue overlaps or background noise is present. Ability to decipher and understand English spoken word including voices with heavy accents, low-volume recordings, technical jargon, colloquialisms and slang. - Quality Control and Formatting: Proofread and edit transcripts (before delivery) for spelling, grammar and punctuation while maintaining strict verbatim integrity of the human voice recording; ensure all documents comply with formatting rules and font requirements; verify legal terminology and jargon and use proper names when appropriate. - Court Certification: Provide court-certified transcripts whereby swearing (in writing) to the deliverable's validity as a court-ready (certified) document. - Confidentiality and Data Security: Take all measures necessary to handle and safeguard private/sensitive information per strict PHI, PII, SBI. NDA, etc. policies. Utilize encrypted file transfer protocols and secure work stations to prevent unauthorized access to project data. - Adhere to all project work instructions and deadlines provided to you. - Communicate in a timely and professional manner with Prisma team members. - Willfully participate in quality management processes, e.g. Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), solution implementation. - Adhere to policies and processes defined in Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA), MSA Addenda, and the Prisma Vendor Guide. OTHER ATTRIBUTES - Excellent communication skills and quick responses to Prisma project team requests. - Ability to accommodate given deadlines. - After hours and weekend ability is a plus (at your discretion). SECURITY/CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a current PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE, or the willingness to obtain it. A Public Trust Clearance includes a criminal history background check, fingerprinting, financial records background check, and previous employment history.
