Title: Senior Frontend Engineer, Design Systems Location: San Francisco United States Job Description: About the role We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Design Systems and play a key role in helping evolve our core foundations across products. As the senior front-end engineer, you will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and designers to create innovative solutions focused on the underlying system that powers our user experiences — from tokens and typography to color, patterns, and component architecture. You will also have the opportunity to shape the roadmap for our internal applications and mobile app, driving impactful projects from concept to completion. Working closely with product managers, operations teams, and other engineering teams, you'll influence the design and functionality of the experience that all of our members use every day. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $164,000 and up to $227,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. In this role, you can expect to - Exercise technical leadership for high-impact projects - Advocate for and implement best practices in UX development, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across all our applications - Implement product features and provide support or work with backend engineers to define and integrate platform APIs - Mentor, document, and share knowledge as part of your immediate team as well as through Chime Engineering as a whole - Foster collaboration across engineering teams to create reusable, scalable solutions, contributing to architecture blueprints that benefit the entire organization. - Lead projects by defining timelines, managing scope, overseeing development, and ensuring quality - Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in sprint ceremonies and process refinement - Participate in a community of practice (guild) around how our frontend ecosystem is architected, developed, tested, deployed, and released. Foster the community’s creativity, innovation, and learning. - Engineers are required to participate in on-call rotation. Being on call may include responding to incidents outside of regular working hours when necessary.
