• Responsible for Business Intelligence – development, deployment and maintenance of various business reports using business intelligence tools OAS • Capability to develop scripts for report validation and data verification • Develop, deploy, and maintain business intelligence reports using BI tools such as Oracle Analytics Server and Oracle BI Publisher • Perform comprehensive testing and validation of custom BI reports to ensure data accuracy, system performance, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements • Manage periodic and aggregate reporting activities, including oversight and/or execution of database reports and outputs • Implement and maintain data quality management processes to ensure data integrity, consistency, and suitability for reliable reporting and analytics • Provide support for database setup and configuration in collaboration with IT and safety systems teams • Assist in the validation of computerized systems to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements • Support data migration activities between databases while ensuring data integrity and accuracy • Prepare and maintain controlled documentation related to data management and database processes • Manage and maintain long-term client engagements, ensuring effective communication and delivery of reporting and data management services

• Take ownership of foundational data and further development of SQL server. • Engage and assist Project Managers during development activities while ensuring foundational data compliments the system blueprint and defined standard development practices. • Work and coordinate with Project Managers and Department Directors to align requirements and solutions across the platform. • Identify and analyze project and technical risks & impacts; define alternatives & prioritizations to remove roadblocks • Assist with product assessments including fit/gap analysis, building PoCs and providing recommendations on data architecture/tool, etc. • Drive system and tool optimization activities by reviewing current processes and implementing change when necessary. • Build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that provide insights that can be easily interpreted and applied by business leaders to help improve their performance

The Team: Upstart’s Marketplace Analytics team coordinates the interplay between supply, demand and pricing in Upstart’s marketplace between borrowers and lenders. Our goal is to optimize the marketplace for all participants As the Staff Analyst on our Marketplace Analytics team you will be the Competitive Pricing Lead, and will be the definitive expert on how Upstart’s pricing sits within the broader landscape. You won't just manage data; you will own the program that defines our price-competitiveness. How you’ll make an impact - Program Ownership: Lead the end-to-end competitive intelligence program, including managing internal and external data sources and vendor relationships - Strategic Synthesis: Integrate disparate data sources (surveys, internal "comparison data, and third-party reports) into a single, cohesive narrative regarding our pricing versus the broader market. - Executive Communication: Serve as the primary voice to leadership on comp pricing providing high-stakes insights for everything from day to day understanding to board meetings and earnings calls. - Expansion & Growth: Lead the roadmap to expand competitive pricing coverage from Personal Loans into all nascent products (Auto, Home, etc.). - Pricing Influence: Translate competitive gaps into actionable pricing recommendations, helping the team decide when to lean in or pull back based on market movements. - Think critically about the end-to-end system, modeling and reasoning about how pricing changes interact with risk assessment, underwriting policies, loan funding mechanisms, and other parts of the business. Minimum Qualifications - Strong analytical and quantitative background with at least 8+ years of professional experience in analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field. - Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly SQL and Python/R. - Experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode). - Degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related area. - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous problems with a structured approach. - Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences. - Demonstrated ability to think critically about business problems and the systems they operate within. - Experience with survey data Preferred Qualifications - Experience specifically in competitive pricing, pricing analytics, revenue management, or marketplace optimization. - Experience in technology, fintech, lending, or two-sided marketplace companies. - Deep understanding of statistical methods and causal inference techniques. - Proven ability to influence strategic decisions through data-driven insights and narratives, especially at the leadership level. - Experience collaborating effectively with Product Management and Engineering teams. The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range.
