Data Analyst - Power BI Specialist

We’re looking for a skilled Data Analyst - Power BI Specialist to drive the design, analysis, and implementation of data models, reports, and dashboards. What You'll Do: - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions; - Design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver key business insights; - Develop and optimize data models within Power BI, ensuring efficient data integration and reporting performance; - Create and manage Power BI Dataflows, connecting and transforming data from various sources for reporting needs; - Write efficient SQL queries to retrieve, clean, and transform data from different databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL to prepare datasets for reporting and analysis; - Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI to create measures and calculated columns for in-depth analysis; - Publish and manage Power BI reports and dashboards in the Power BI Service, ensuring accessibility and usability for stakeholders; - Oversee the organization of reports within Power BI workspaces, including managing permissions and access rights for users; - Troubleshoot and optimize Power BI reports to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Software or Electrical Engineering, or other related field;
  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analysis, with a strong focus on Power BI;
  • Proficiency in DAX for calculations and data modeling;
  • Experience with Power Query for data transformation and cleaning;
  • Experience with publishing, sharing, and managing reports in the Power BI Service, including workspace administration;
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices;
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data retrieval;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Nice-to-have Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Power BI with other Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel, Azure) and third-party applications;
  • Leverage Power BI’s AI capabilities to create advanced analytics solutions, including machine learning models and automated insights;
  • Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch) for building and deploying models;
  • Ability to preprocess and clean data for machine learning, including handling missing values, data normalization, and feature engineering;
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schema designs, particularly in SQL Server Data Warehouse environments;
  • Familiarity with database management practices, including indexing, optimization, and maintenance to enhance performance and reliability of data queries;
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using SQL to prepare data for analysis and reporting;
  • Familiarity with Azure Document Intelligence for extracting information from documents, enabling automated data processing and integration into BI workflows;
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications (e.g. Azure Data Scientist Associate, Power BI Data Analyst, etc.).

How you’ll make an impact - Program Ownership: Lead the end-to-end competitive intelligence program, including managing internal and external data sources and vendor relationships - Strategic Synthesis: Integrate disparate data sources (surveys, internal "comparison data, and third-party reports) into a single, cohesive narrative regarding our pricing versus the broader market. - Executive Communication: Serve as the primary voice to leadership on comp pricing providing high-stakes insights for everything from day to day understanding to board meetings and earnings calls. - Expansion & Growth: Lead the roadmap to expand competitive pricing coverage from Personal Loans into all nascent products (Auto, Home, etc.). - Pricing Influence: Translate competitive gaps into actionable pricing recommendations, helping the team decide when to lean in or pull back based on market movements. - Think critically about the end-to-end system, modeling and reasoning about how pricing changes interact with risk assessment, underwriting policies, loan funding mechanisms, and other parts of the business.
