Intermediate Bookkeeper

• Perform end-to-end bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies • Enter, review, and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable • Process end-to-end Australian payroll and maintain payroll compliance • Prepare and review BAS and IAS in accordance with Australian GST legislation • Review work completed by Intermediate Bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and quality standards • Ensure accuracy and completeness of client records across systems • Identify issues, anomalies, or process gaps and address or escalate as required • Maintain high-quality bookkeeping standards across multiple clients
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field in bookkeeping preferred
- Minimum 3–4 years of Australian bookkeeping experience
- Has pursued bookkeeping as a career, preferably within an Australian bookkeeping firm handling multiple clients
- Australian payroll experience required
- Strong understanding of Australian GST law, including preparation of BAS and IAS
- Demonstrated process development and improvement skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Must have end-to-end experience using Xero
- Experience with Simpro or Employment Hero Payroll is beneficial (training will be provided)
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
