In this dual-focus role, you will serve as the primary web designer for our education platform—owning the end-to-end user experience from wireframes to production-ready interfaces—while also producing executive-quality graphic assets for C-level presentations, social media campaigns, digital banners, and marketing collateral. Location: Costa Rica (Remote) Contract Type: W2 Project Duration: 12 months Project Capacity: 40 hours per week Start Date: ASAP SweetRush is a remote organization, and as such, all resources must be technically savvy, have access to a strong internet signal, be comfortable with virtual/instant messaging and conferencing tools, and generally be available during established working hours. Your Impact and Responsibilities Essential functions include: - Own the complete UX/UI design lifecycle for the education platform—from discovery and wireframing through high-fidelity prototyping to production-ready handoff. - Conduct user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations to continuously refine the learner experience and interface usability. - Design responsive, accessible, and visually engaging web interfaces that follow WCAG standards and mobile-first best practices. - Build and maintain a scalable design system (UI components, style guides, interaction patterns) to ensure visual and functional consistency across the platform. - Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and instructional designers to translate learning objectives into intuitive digital experiences. - Create executive-quality visual assets for C-level presentations, board decks, investor materials, and leadership communications. - Design compelling promotional and marketing materials including social media graphics, digital banners, email campaign visuals, landing pages, and paid ad creatives. - Develop branded collateral such as brochures, one-pagers, event materials, and product launch campaigns that maintain brand consistency and visual excellence. - Support the marketing team with rapid-turnaround design requests for time-sensitive campaigns and announcements. - Champion and evolve the brand identity across all digital and print touchpoints, managing a shared asset library of templates, brand assets, and iconography. What You Bring - Required Skills - 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, web design, and/or graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in both disciplines. - Proven experience designing for web-based platforms or SaaS products, ideally within the education, e-learning, or learning and development industry. - Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD), including prototyping and design handoff workflows. - Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, executive-level visual assets for presentations, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications. - Strong command of responsive design, mobile-first principles, and a solid understanding of HTML/CSS fundamentals. - Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, and translating research insights into actionable design improvements. - Excellent visual communication skills with a keen eye for typography, color theory, layout composition, and brand consistency. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance competing priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines. - Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal). - A portfolio or body of work that demonstrates range across web/platform design and marketing/corporate creative. Bonus Skills - Experience with motion graphics or animation tools (After Effects, Lottie, Rive) for micro-interactions or promotional video content. - Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), instructional design principles, or SCORM/xAPI standards. - Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular to facilitate seamless developer collaboration. - Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, or data-driven design decision-making. - Background in video editing or multimedia content production. - Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+) and inclusive design practices.
